My scrap room is a DISASTER! I haven't had much time to craft the last few months, so I have half project piles everywhere, boxes of goodies from Two Peas and Studio Calico subs, not to mention the random piles of JUNK that get tossed in here. So tonight I'm cleaning it up! It's 10:30 pm and it'll probably take me a few hours...I've got the coffee on. Wish me luck!

Ha ha, I know THAT feeling! My studio is a total dump right now. I'm toying with the idea of inviting friends to come scrap in another couple weeks but haven't pulled the trigger yet because it's just that bad. I did spend a couple hours last week getting some of the bags of stuff emptied out and organized into event bins. Then I moved a few empty cubes into a corner and stacked them so I could put the bins into the cubes so I don't have to move 12 of them to get at the stuff in the bottom one, ugh. A very slight improvement. Even after all that, my work tables are still heaped with my stuff, my kid's stuff and just other random junk that hasn't been put away because it doesn't have a home anywhere. If I do invite my friends it will force me to clean up my work tables at least.

I mean, I'd be mortified if anyone saw what it looked like right now, but I can get around and all, without the mess stifling my creativity. Thank you both for reminding me to email my friend and see if she wants to come scrap NEXT weekend. Lol. This will be the kick in the butt I need to clean my scraproom and get some pictures ordered.

I have the opposite problem right now. Last weekend I straightened everything up and it's all nice and tidy in our loft where I have my space. Only thing is our nephew is staying with us and the extra bed is up there. He knows at any time I could be up there seeing that is where my space and items are, but I just feel like I'm invading his privacy. UGH - here's to hoping he works this weekend so I can get some me time

Last night my husband walked into my scraproom and said, "Hey, you cleared a path." It's normally pretty clean but I'm working on Christmas cards so I pulled out the Christmas bin and well, there is Christmas everywhere!

How is everything going? Have you run out of coffee yet? I gave up about 1 am. The coffee wasn't doing it's job anymore lol. I got the entire floor cleaned up and all the piles put away. All that's left is my table. I'll tackle that at naptime today.

LOL craftygamer! The only time my studio is "clean" (term used VERY loosely!) these days is when I know people will be coming over to scrap or when DH infrequently needs the space for a work meeting. It's been a busy summer and we've had a lot going on so it has gotten worse than it usually is. It will be a lot easier to keep things picked up once I have some storage. Next week I'll be working on editing and uploading some photos while DH and DD are off 4-wheeling, so that's why I'm thinking a scrapping day needs to be pencilled in not long after that. I'm itching to do something because it will probably be the last time I can have anyone over for several months. Hopefully (fingers, toes and any other cross-able appendage crossed!) I'll be getting my cabinets installed in the next couple months--and then it will be a REAL disaster down there for a while!

Good luck! I've been working on organizing and purging and it's finally at the point where it's starting to look better. For a period there it was looking like a tornado hit that room. It won't be long and hopefully you can see the light at the end of the tunnel pretty quickly!

Doesn't it feel good when it's all clean? I spent about three hours in my scraproom yesterday purging and reorganizing. I got a new table/desk and finally put together my Ikea Alex drawer. It looks so good. I only need two more bookcases, for my albums, and two of the lower Alex drawers and I'll be finished.

How are you doing? My focus right now is getting the whole house in order. DD and her family are coming to visit for a month in September so I need to make space for their clothing and get the dangerous things put away from DGS's busy hands. So why am I playing on the computer? Time to get back to work!

pamc We ended up being gone all weekend so I'm back at it tonight. I'm hoping I can finish cleaning the table top and then craft a little bit tonight. I've been in super cleaning mode lately. Last week I went through all of my kids closets and took out the too small stuff to make room for the next size up, did a major overhaul in our master bedroom, cleaned all the big windows in our kitchen/dining room, and did a little housecleaning on the kitchen counter tops. I got rid of two coffee makers and a bread box on my counters. Ugh. Clutter just accumulates!

I listed a few things on our local Buy Nothing Facebook site - still have a couple of things to give away. About half of what I posted on craigslist has been sold. When I'm at work, I can think of a hundred things to give away or sell. When I get home, my brain is mush. I do know the more I get rid of, the better I feel! Sunday I was able to spend about an hour sorting and organizing my scrapbook supplies. It's so easy for me to distract myself by making a layout though. It's a never-ending process.

That is the complete and total opposite of what usually happens to the other 99%... "I went to my table to scrap, but got distracted by organizing and straightening and got nothing made." I have never heard anyone say, I went to organize my supplies but got distracted by scrapping a layout! 8DGirl, you have gotten it right!!! Now, please tell us your secret!

LOL! I can avoid anything by starting a scrapbook page! When I walk in the room with the intention of "cleaning up", I'll pick up a pack of (anything) and think, "OH! This would be perfect for..." and there I go. I find the photos, the papers and start a page. Why clean up now when I can wait until this page is completed?
