Due to my daughter's immune issues I always take Lysol spray when we travel and spray down everything in the hotel room. All of our traveling has been by car over the past five years. We are flying next week and I would like to take a can of Lysol in my checked bag. All I'm finding online are things 2006 and earlier so I'm not sure what the rules are currently. Does anybody know? If I can't take Lysol spray do you think I can take a tub of unopened Clorox wipes and put them in my checked luggage instead? Thanks ladies!

Can you buy a can at your destination? Surely there is a drugstore between the airport and the hotel.

You can put anything in checked luggage. You can take a firearm and crossbow if you declare it, I'm sure you can take a can Lysol! Opened or unopened wipes would be fine in checked or carry on. In fact bring some wipes in your carry on and wipe down the seat tray and armrests.

How would they know the difference between a hairspray can and a Lysol can (on an xray)? I guess the shapes are usually different. But I'm sure there is some brand of hairspray that is the same shape as a cleaning supply bottle. I've seen hunters come from the USA to Canada with their guns or bows but you can't bring a Lysol bottle within your own country? Wow, learn something new everyday.

Small cans for personal use is what it says. It's not the cleaning supply part, it's the fact that the aerosol is a fire hazard. I've actually taken firearms on planes several times. It's not that difficult to do. I don't think a crossbow has to be declared because there's no risk a crossbow will cause damage in the belly of a plane.

If it would meet your needs, I'd pack Lysol or Clorox wipes. I would also put them inside a large ziplock bag (it would take gallon sized or larger) in case there was a leak. The airlines can be rough on your luggage and its contents. While it is possible that your luggage will just be x-rayed, they do hand inspect some luggage - I have received notes in my luggage several times that it was searched.
If you get in a pinch, you could take Uber or a taxi to the nearest grocery store. Also, all of the Disney resorts have a store with most general supplies you would need. It would surprise me if they didn't sell a disinfectant spray.

We are going to Disney World and taking the Magical Express bus ride from the airport to the Disney grounds You can call their disability services and request a deep cleaning of your room due to her health issues. Disney will do this, but you may have a longer wait for the room to be ready. If you prefer to clean yourself, have an Amazon delivery made to the hotel ahead of your arrival. This may even save you packing toiletries, sunscreen, snacks, etc.

I just had to find the street address of the hotel. Some of the hotels deliver to the front desk while others have a delivery pick-up location. Another similar option is the grocery delivery services. There are a number of those in Orlando that will deliver groceries and other essentials to your resort. Save

Could you have it shipped to your hotel? Or just request some from Disney. I'm sure they'll be happy to put some in your room.

From what I've heard about Disney I would think they'd help you out, either by providing it themselves, or doing a more thorough cleaning of the room, or letting you order from Amazon ahead of time.... whatever. Disney is the place that hosts many many Make a Wish kids, they're used to children with medical issues.

The Special Reservations number is (407) 939-7807. That's who you can call to request specialized cleaning.

Could you pack the liquid lysol in your checked luggage along with an empty spray bottle ? You could put it in the spray bottle and check it - the problem is the aerosol can.

I don't think you can take anything like aerosol cans at all.

I just traveled with big honkin' can of aerosol hairspray wrapped in a plastic shopping bag in my checked bag with no issues.

I always have a full sized can of glade spray in my checked luggage when I travel. It's never been an issue.

I also have not had issues with aerosols in my checked luggage anytime recently. With your transportation plans, I would say take a small can and worst case you may have to toss it.

I would put in your checked luggage. Worst thing that can happen is they'll take it out.

You can have it sent via Amazon, or a grocery delivery service. I know that when we stay at DVC villas, there is a grocery checklist we can order from ahead of time to have delivered when we get there.
