I have been a huge fan of Anna Griffin. I wanted to send Anna Griffin wedding invitations but couldn't afford $12 invitations for 125 people. My MIL and mom are very crafty, so we saved money by putting together our own wedding programs, etc.
I would have given my eye teeth for a cricut and Anna Griffin cartridges back then. I'm really intrigued about all the things you could do with her products--I love the different styles of cut out borders and patterns.
My concern is how well the cricut can cut out such intricate patterns on heavier paper. Obviously I would use a new blade, but I don't want to invest the money for cartridges that work well in theory, but don't work well on thick papers or even fabric.
I saw these cartridges on a home shopping network (not QVC) where Anna even used facing backed cotton fabric to embellish napkins.
Thanks for your help!

If you have the new Explore than it will cut way better now. I don't have it since I only got an E2 about a year ago (also have a Create) but have read that it cuts better.

I only have the Christmas one. I bought it especially for the poinsettia. I was really disappointed. The small cutouts in the middle of the leaf did not cut all the way through. I gave up on trying to punch (or cut) them out by hand. I changed blades, played around with different papers, settings, etc. My friend could use the ones I finished before I gave up, but I needed too many cards. Her cards are lovely. It could still be operator error, I guess!

I don't have the Explore and don't plan to buy one either. I don't want to internet dependent for a cutting machine. I do find the more intricate a design is, then you do have to work with it some. I always start a little slow on cutting, slightly lighter pressure and do a double cut. May take a bit longer to cut. but it will always work out. If it is pattern paper you may only need to cut once with the above adjustments. With lightweight cardstock, you may be able to increase the pressure slightly and cut once. Medium to heavy weight use the lighter pressure and cut twice. You can get great cuts with any of the machines if you don't fly through them. The only advantage on cutting that I can see with the Eplore is the preset cutting selections and even then crafters have to make adjustments.

Anna Griffin also has some beautiful and intricate dies that emboss.
