scrapincin congrats on the Indians advancing to the next round. I'm afraid I can't wish them luck against the Blue Jays. kellyr21 I did not have to cook. Saturday we had supper with my family and Monday we had it with my in-laws. I'm over turkey for a bit! nylene I agree about the housework. Have you ever checked out flylady.net? She has a term called CHAOS (Can't Have Anybody Over Syndrome) and sadly this is the state my house is in. LisaDV good luck with your swap! I hate those deadlines that I forget about or even the ones that are really far away, and then suddenly sneak up on me. I have rehearsal tonight. We are doing scenes 7 and 8 and I pretty much know the lines for them. That means I know 1, 2 sort of, 7, and 8. Now I just need to learn the middle. Today is a Professional Development day at school and since I don't really belong to one of the schools, I'm just marking and preparing my new grade 12 science courses. When I'm not wasting time, of course. Here's my page from yesterday. It is digital using a kit called Procraftinating and another called Makers Gonna Make. Have I ever mentioned that I am a sucker for a good title?

justjac , I once looked into doing Flylady, but I hated being so regimented. I guess I am more lazy when it comes to housework. I definitely have CHAOS some of the time. But a few minutes to slick up the bathrooms and some pick up in every room but scraproom and I am ready for company....but not in my scraproom! LOL! It's a disaster. That is such a cute layout. I love that sentiment. Congrats on learning so much of your play. Good luck on the rest. scrapincin , thank you for your kind comments on my cards. I will post them here too. I just found out I won a layout contest sponsored by Scrapbook.com and there's a prize worth $50 on its way to me. All I had to do was make sure I posted my layouts there first before posting here and check the box for Layout Challenge. No other requirements except to link 3 products.(don't have to be purchased there) You can use paper trimmers, adhesives, Cameo, etc. I'm excited to see what is coming. kellyr21 , I am going to watch the cupcake video tonight. Since my computer fiasco 2 weeks ago I haven't had sound on my computer. Doug dropped by and in less than a minute, fixed it. Who knew there was a mute button at the bottom? Boy, am I techno-challenged. He came to help Steve lift his new saw onto the table base. So I grabbed him for one moment and he fixed it. Thanks for the link. I've got to get going to learn before Thanksgiving. grammadee , if you are checking in, just know that we are missing you. Hope you are having a great time. Hugs! maribeth , hugs to you too! LisaDV , how are you doing with the apples? Any other produce left to preserve? I'm sending you mojo to get your swap finished. I'd be afraid to sign up for fear my stuff wouldn't measure up. Yesterday afternoon, I mailed out my swaps that are all due soon with the exception of 1 (which has 5 different parts). However, I now feel like I have some breathing room. DD is hurting from the travel this week, so I've spent a lot of time either holding her/her hand/her foot while sitting on the couch. scrapincin, do you make the same card design for all of your Christmas cards or do you make many different? Can't wait to see. nylene, I'll be checking the silhouette store for that violin -- so cute. It's so sweet that the girl liked the card the best but with your work, it is no surprise. I really like your Christmas card design. Are the ornaments from the silhouette? kellyr21, What type of crafting are you working on this week? We decided on our trip that during the next visit, we'd go to the art museum. This is huge as my ds never wants to go to art museums. The last art museum we went to was 2012 in Philadelphia for a Van Gogh exhibit. It was totally worth hearing him complain though. justjac, great layout. Love the title. I'll leave love after. You're really making progress on your play! My house is in a Chronic state of CHAOS. I'm currently blaming that it's a work in progress. I'll be making applesauce with my apples. My dd will only eat homemade applesauce (taste) or that sauce out of a pouch (because it's fun). I hope to finally start today. We don't spray our apples either. DH did get some organic spray for the newer fruit trees. We will have to cut around bad parts too. We have 5 or 6 older trees in the orchard (plus 1 newer -not producing yet that we planted). Really only 1 produced fruit this year. After being neglected for so many years, Don trimmed back the dead pieces on several of the trees at the top of the orchard. It was a lot, so we're hoping they make it. Have a great day, or days until I get back to check in.

LisaDV , the ornaments on my cards are Stampin Up dies. Thanks for your nice comments. Congrats on getting the swaps off into the mail. You are amazing. I'd still be trying to decide what to make! Best wishes on your applesauce. I love homemade applesauce. Hope your DD is feeling better soon. I finished a page last night. I used a Silhouette file to make the pizza. It was really pretty fast. It took longer to glue it together than to cut it! Pizza Lunch at Costco by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Good afternoon All! Hope everyone is having a good week! I posted the first of the Christmas Cards I am making . I posted the inside only because I made the background and there is a 3-d item inside also. The background was inspired by a video Jenifer McGuire did yesterday. The 3-d is by Sizzix and is what I was excited to use when I got stabbed by my scissors. These were fun to do. They took a little time but that was by choice! LOL LisaDV- I usually make 3 different cards as I tend to get bored with just one. Too many designs are overwhelming. nylene -I love your pizza page and left you some love in both galleries. Happy Thursday! This week I was able to get in some longer walks and I was happy about that. We have a main street way up the way that has lots of small restaurants and stores. Some months back I finally was able to walk up there which was a goal. But when the weather got too hot I had to stop. So now that it is finally cooling off I was able to walk up there this week a few times and even got myself some lunch yesterday. That was a real treat. I hope to do more longer walks now that Fall is here. I went to M's to see about more ideas for my Christmas cards. Nothing really jumped out at me so I am just gonna continue with what I have. You ladies have made some AMAZING cards! justjac- Oh boy, your play is getting closer. So glad you feel good about the lines you have learned. Hang in there! LisaDV- Wow, you all have an apple orchard. That is so neat! I hope you have fun making the apple sauce and other items. Also, hope your sweet dd feels better soon. What crafts will I be doing this week you asked? I think all that walking I did gave me some space from my crafts. So maybe today and tomorrow I will be continuing my art. Guitar lessons are all over so I may do some practicing just for fun too. scrapincin- The Dodgers play tonight and I don't know how much I will watch. The last game was so nerve-racking! LOL! I just hope they win and move on to the next round. Your card looked so festive and look at the inside! So cute Cindy! Going to the gallery to get a closer look. nylene- LOL! I know how you feel about technology. My phone is still not working right. I have some instructions to try and after step one, I needed a break! LOL! SO complicated!!!! Glad your computer was an easy fix. Your dsil is such a great help. I just love the ornament dies you used on your cards. WOWZERS!!!

kellyr21, I watched the frosting YT video and then watched a few more. The one you recommended was the best. I plan to try this weekend to decorate some cupcakes. I need to practice if I plan to show the girls how to do it. Thank you so much for the ideas. I have a few tips, but they are much smaller. I think I will invest in the 3 she suggests. I am glad you had a nice walk. This is the perfect time of year for it. We are having Fall weather right now and I hope it doesn't turn cold again for a few weeks. I have another page to post but I haven't scanned it yet. Will do it this weekend. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Well, it is a blizzard here. This is my house. It's so hard to get good snowing pictures. We're still hoping that it will melt next week. Right now the trench to run the gas line to the garage is filling with snow. DH really wanted to get the garage heated before winter. scrapincin I love the inside of your card. That 3D is great. nylene That pizza is amazing! LisaDV I actually like the squeezable apple sauce for a pre workout snack! Yours probably tastes way better. kellyr21 I'm missing my walks. I took this week off because I've been fighting a cold. I'm glad you're back at it. Here are my last three layouts. First is digital, second is paper, third is Project Life App.

Good Saturday morning everyone! Hope you are having a great weekend! I am trying to complete some of the projects from the Crop so I can post them to show you some of what we do fun. @justyjac- I hope you saw what I wrote on your car page! I love my Jeep. So much easier to get in and out of without being a truck. How much snow did you get? I can not even fathom snow this early! As for you rooting for the Tribe-I get it! But who won Game One! LOL I thought it was a great game but I am sure you have a different opinion! LOL LisaDV- missing you on here-hope all is well waving Hi! Check in when you can! nylene- Hope you had a good week! I am sure those little ones are always glad to see you. Ok getting off and will be back later to post a few items-including a scrappy page!

nylene, You did a fabulous job with those dies. SU does have some cute things. I love your pizza!! Will leave love soon. scrapincin, love the card. The inside is so fun! I love it. Will leave you love soon too. Can't wait to see your crop projects! kellyr21, sounds like you've had a good week. Walking is such good exercise. I need to do it more. I've been walking the dogs daily. We've found that with the Beagle, if we leash walk him, he listens better when he's off the leash. justjac, yukky snow. Please keep it there and don't send it this way!!! I'm so not ready. We haven't even finished moving our wood to easy access yet. We have maybe 2.5 cords in front. ugh. Of course, the chimney cleaner isn't coming until the 25th. I saw your cute pages in the gallery the other day and left love then. DD is still not 100% but hopefully is on her way. Yesterday she felt well enough and had enough energy to stand for a shower. Of course, that wiped her out. Today she was feeling well for part of the day. It's so funny! She is needy with only me. "Come sit by me" - all the time. Never for her dad though, even if I'm not here. I had him sit by her so I could get dinner made, and when I came back into the living room, she was in a different chair. ?? Yesterday we listened to almost the whole "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" on cd. I worked on my recipes and she built card castles/buildings. I'm off to see about some digital pages, before my pulled pork is finished and needs to be pulled for tomorrow.

Hello, all my Pokey friends! Today after school I went to Michael's to buy some Wilton food coloring. They had those little tiny cupcake pans and I couldn't resist getting one and the little paper liners. I talked to 2 of my grandchildren yesterday about decorating cupcakes at Cousin Camp and they were soooo excited. They want to each do lots and then deliver them to neighbors. Well....let's see how they turn out first and make sure there is no "licking" involved. LOL! I'm glad they are now all on board about decorating. It should be a fun/sugary/messy time. scrapincin , you are really on a roll. Your cards and layout are beautiful. Keep that mojo going. I'm anxious to see what stamps you got at the Expo. LisaDV , I hope your DD is feeling even better today. What a difficult time she has and in turn it makes life difficult for you. She's blessed to have such a loving and caring mom. @ kellyr21 , I bought yellow, pink, teal and green colors of food coloring. I'll experiment a bunch before Thanksgiving and see if I can make pretty designs. If not, I won't try to teach the girls, but will just turn them loose. My kitchen may never be the same. Thank you so much for the encouragement!! justjac , what do you hear from grammadee ? I hope she's have a great time. I am loving your layouts. How do you keep up with one a day? I couldn't take the stress! Lots to do around here, so I'd better quit. I've spent the afternoon working on things for Steve. BBL

Happy Monday! It was really rain this morning and we sure needed. Hope you all are having a nice day. Weekend was restful and hope to get going this week with crafts and some house cleaning. LisaDV- You are a terrific mom and doing a great job with your kids especially your dd. Hang in there! scrapincin- Both our baseball teams are still playing!!!! How cool is that?!! I have watched some of the games and hope the Dodgers make it to the world series. Your projects you made at that crop look good girl. I am off to the gallery to get a better look. nylene- I hope you are having fun with your cupcake practice. I want to practice more this week. I think I will use some parchment paper and just practice on that. Now that I have done cupcakes I would like to try a cake next. I have seen some of the same designs on small and regular sized cakes. justjac- Your layouts are looking good. Are you still on the daily challenge? Does your character for the play get to wear a special costume?

nylene, oh, the kids will have a blast decorating cupcakes. kellyr21, we had a downpour yesterday morning too. I'm working on last year's Halloween pages right now for my craft war challenge. It's not really to my taste or style and will be quite simple, but it will be finished.

LisaDV Good luck with your Halloween layout. nylene I haven't heard anything from grammadee. She's home next week and I'm excited to hear about her travels. scrapincin and kellyr21 I have to admit I'm not a huge sports fan. I was when I lived with my dad (there really wasn't a choice ) and especially in '92 and '93 when the Blue Jays won. That being said, I'm following them in the playoffs and sad that they're not doing well this round. I'm taking a health/sick day today. I slipped and fell on the ice yesterday bumping the back of the head. I was fine, went to work, had a massage after work. Then my neck started to hurt. Again not bad, but I just felt like I needed time to myself. I am going to go to my rehearsal tonight. I have one week to finish learning my lines. I'll get there; it's just not the most fun part. My costumes are pretty basic this play: long skirt and top for Act 1 and dress Act 2. All are probably just coming out of my own closet. I am still doing my layout a day. I'm also going to a crop just a couple of blocks away from my house this weekend. Sadly, grammadee is still away, but I do have another friend coming into town for it.

Happy Thursday! Can you believe we are having another heat wave? It is 98 or so degrees today. I was so loving the cooler temps and here we go again. LOL! I wish I could send some of this heat to warm some of your cities. Not much exciting going on this week but wanted to pop in and wave hello. justjac - Oh I am so happy you are ok after that bad fall. OMG! So glad it didn't mess up your plans for rehearsal. My dad also was the one that introduced me to sports. I used to enjoy watching some games with him too. Then, I got into it on my own and it worked out great since my dh is a big sports fan. We love watching games together. scrapincin - Your "Tribe" did it!!!! World Series here you come. My fingers are crossed that our Dodger make it too. Tonight is another nervous game. Oh boy! LOL! nylene - Your dgds are just growing up and you make such beautiful layouts about them. Are any of your grands married yet? I know you will be so excited when that starts happening if it hasn't already.

justjac, I hope you are not terribly stiff and sore from the fall. It looks like you are still able to do layouts. But, of course, we'd find a way to do layouts and crafty things if we were paralyzed! Take care in that snowy weather. kellyr21, I can't believe it's so warm there. We've had some pretty Fall weather this week, but it will change quickly. We are out for Fall Break so it has been nice weather for the kids to be outside running around. I now have all the stuff I need to try the decorating. I hope to get a chance to try soon. We had company pop in last night with little notice, so I had to slick my house up. Remember when I said that with just a little effort I could have it in shape for company. Well, I was wrong. I'm glad they didn't have to go in every room of the house. The wife saw my scraproom in a real mess, cards half made, a double layout scattered with all the stuff I might use on it and little scraps all over the floor! Sigh. But she it just made her want to go home and take up scrapping again! LisaDV, your swaps are wonderful! I also love your mask making and pumpkin carving layout. What fun you have as a family! scrapincin, congrats that your team is heading for the World Series. I can watch baseball and golf, but that's about all. I'll cheer for your team. I need to run. I think we are going to go to a movie today. I just need to get my Church lesson ready, finish my wash and straighten up so I can feel ok about going. Have a great weekend!

I hope to post a layout tomorrow but had to reprint the photos and wanted them to dry over night Hope to work on another one tomorrow also. Maybe a digi one since I have not done one of those for a while. We shall see.

Hello all. It looks like you have all been really busy this month. I will be checking out the gallery when I have time.
I am home a week early. On the 15th, my brother (the one who was in hospital before I left) passed away. The funeral was planned for the 22nd, and I was able to switch my flights to get back for the wake the night before and then the funeral yesterday. Friday was a long day with 10 1/2 hours flight time and an 8 hour time change, then the drive from the airport to the funeral home. Dh had already arrived there from home and had booked a hotel room. I stayed an extra night in the hotel. Dh came home yesterday, but I just arrived this afternoon.
Hoping to catch up with all the news later

Good Evening all! I think I am caught up with visits to the gallery! Nice to see everyone checking in the past few days. I wanted to do some scrapping today but never made it that far. Did some laundry and next thing I knew the kids were back from school.
@nyelene-did you ever find your dad's or DFIL's registration papers while adding the data to the registry? Also did you notice I finally got the nerve to actually stamp on my layout? The background of that is actually white and I tried to fix it but it stayed the light blue. I have always stamped on die cuts but this was the first time I did it on the actual page. I am feeling ok and thanks for asking. I was actually in a fib Saturday but finally converted back Saturday evening on my own. But that really wears me out. So I took it easy yesterday. As for the med change and all I am about the same. I hope something changes soon. I am glad you are going to be watching the World Series! It is going to be great with both teams not having won on so long.
Kelly-Sorry your Dodgers got knocked out of the Series but this should be a good one to watch. I actually got the tips to try doing the icing -Maggie and I both want to learn after seeing yours.
Alright it is late so getting off of here. Waving a big HI to one and all!

Thanks for your warm thoughts, Ladies. I am not completely caught up on the news here, but I hope your leg has healed, scrapincin , and that you are back to normal again after the fall, justjac . And my prayers and best wishes go out to you, nylene . You have had a very stressful month. So glad you are planning another cousin camp to coincide with Thanksgiving. And I hope November is a brighter month for you maribeth . Remember you can come back here, even if your sunny disposition is behind clouds at the moment. We know it is there and that you will get back to it when you are ready. And kellyr21 I would love to get together with you and have a cupcake party. I usually do most of my Christmas baking in November, but right now that feels like a huge mountain I have no energy to start climbing. I gave myself yesterday to rest, and did very little other than making a pot of beef soup for supper (not a lot of work, since I let the oven do most of it). Thought I would have more energy by today, but I didn't sleep well last night--probably as a result of lying around catching up on PVR'd shows yesterday--so I am still pretty tired this morning. REALLY glad I don't have any work commitments to meet! Dh has gone to help his nephew ship cattle, so I have the whole day at home by myself. Think I might try a little playing with paper. I have a 2 page LO laid out on my scrap counter from before we rushed off to see my brother. With very little effort, I should be able to finish that, which will give me some room to do something else if I decide to move on. And then? I could finish the travel journal I worked on all vacation. I have the journaling done and postcards to illustrate the places we visited up until 3 days before I flew home. And I have the things I want to add tucked in there, so that should be easy as well. I had planned to add some photographs to the journal after I came home, but not sure if I will do that. I may just do a few 12x12 pages when I have the photos printed. Another fun project I have planned, but won't be getting to today, is a book for my dd's little guy. When they took me to the airport, he solemnly gave me "Jack, the donkey" to take with me. I took lots of photos of Jack's adventures along the way. The ship photographers always asked me to "take out Jack" when they were photographing me as well. I want to put together a storybook using the photos and some of my travel pp and embellies. They picked me up at the airport on Friday and after I got a huge hug from the little man, he was digging into my shoulder bag to retrieve Jack, and they were inseparable all weekend. And of course, my Christmas supplies--old and new--are calling me... After the LO is done, I may just try a simple grab & glue card just to get into the spirit! Anyway, enough rambling from me. Have a great day, Ladies!

Happy Tuesday! Good to see so many of you chatting away. Wishing you all a good day too. grammadee - Welcome back!!!! Sad to hear about your loss but I hope you were able to enjoy your trip. Looking forward to hearing about some of the fun you had. Which countries or country did you go to again? Yeah, keep taking it slow and resting. I know you will get your energy back soon. Yeah, I wish we all could get together for a cupcake and scrappin party. LOL! scrapincin- Yeah, we were disappointed the Dodgers didn't make it but it was a great season. Maybe next year. So for now I am cheering for your Indians. What an incredible year this would be for OHIO to get two championships. Also, glad to hear you and Maggie are gonna try some icing deco. I know she will love it and I can't wait to try more. justjac - Sending you some warm wishes as you get ready for that play. nylene - Looks like I have started a icing decorating frenzy here among you peas. LOL! I hope you all get to try and I plan to do more too. I really want to try a cake next so that will be a fun step. I used the Wilton's icing and I wonder if I can add some sort of flavoring to it like lemon to match a lemon cake for example. I want to make my own icing next too. The Wilton's is very good and I like how firm it is. So I will see how my homemade icing turns out.

grammadee, I can hardly wait to see the postcards and layouts of your trip. I think taking Jack with you was a wonderful idea. It brought tears to my eyes that he would give up his donkey to take the cruise. What a precious gift to carry with you. I can't wait to see what you make with all his photos. Hope you get rested up and back to scrappy mojo soon. scrapincin, I did not know you stamped right on the layout. Wow, are you getting to be the brave stamper. I am proud of you. I'm scared to do that!! I am getting better at stamping, but still stamp and cut out because I'm a clutz! I finished all the Idaho Draft registrations and didn't find my dad's or Steve's dad's. I found a lot of men from our home town who were fathers of our friends. I found a lot of my dad's friends from a neighboring town and found the registration for my dad's best friend who was killed during the war. That made me sad to see his name. I don't think my dad ever got over that. There are no more registrations for any state that still need to be indexed, so now I am indexing marriages from the 1800's. It has been interesting! I am sorry you've been in afib again. You have done so well. I hope the swelling is going down. Sending hugs. kellyr21, you have really started something. I wanted to try out the frosting over the weekend, but too many things got in the way. We are leaving this weekend to go be with Steve's brother whose son was killed in the plane crash. He is so distraught over the death and the progression of dementia his wife is suffering. So I probably won't get to try until sometime next week. I need to learn and have time to practice. I think I will use the recipe on the youtube link you sent. justjac, keep those layouts coming! I love that your layouts all have such a different look. I think mine all are stuck in the same rut, but yours are so interesting. I love studying what techniques you've used. LisaDV, hope things are going well for you. Did you finish all your swap pieces, or do you have more due soon? maribeth, sending sunshine to you! knutschen, hope things are well with you. Send you sunshine too!
