Good thing I clicked the link, 'cause my first thought was 'wait, whaddya mean there's only one way?' Great post - and so so true. I used to look at layouts in the gallery and think the exact same thing: I don't want mine to look like that. I constantly have to remind myself that they're my photos, it's my hobby, they're my supplies and I should use them the way I want to. Other than the preserving memories part, I think that's what scrapbooking is all about - unleashing your creative side. Thanx for sharing that!

Yikes! I just looked at my blog post and realized the text of the entire second half is missing! It's there in the post draft but when I publish it, it doesn't show up??

love this and I definitely have this problem when I think I should follow a new trend that turns out to not be "me"

very good post, Ashley! I know my style has evolved, but I sometimes still wish I had a more cohesive look to my layouts, instead of having different styles depending on how I'm feeling. And, I still do get sucked into the 'I wish my layouts looked like...' sometimes, but not as often.
(sometimes I still buy things that are more for someone else's style, based on seeing what they did with the supplies-- that's a tough one for me to quit doing! I've returned a few things because of this, but I'm sure I have plenty of supplies in my stash that fit someone else's style- lol!!)

I love this, Ashley! I have at least three distinct styles, and sometimes I think I should just pick one and get over it, but I have so much fun, that I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing! Love the blog hop ideas, I need to catch up with the other ones! TFS!

I have been following the blog hop. Can't wait to check out today's post tonight. I like to see them on my computer, not my phone.

Awesome article - I'm much happier with my layouts once I accepted MY style and stopped stressing because my layouts didn't look like the ones on 2Peas or in the magazines

Ashley, it was a great article! I scrap all over the place sometimes, but do tend to have a core style. Like yours, mine have evolved and I don't need to make my LO's look like anyone else's. I love to see new trends and techniques, for inspiration, but I will use them in my LO's if they fit my style.

I can look at my pages and see my style. Flat, or as flat as I can make it. I don't necessarily buy the latest and greatest products, and there are products that I am just not interested in. I try to make my own embellishments, because frankly I don't want the end product to look like everyone else's. Even the page I did yesterday, which I scraplifted - it was really hard for me to copy it (not that you have to copy it exactly), but I probably would have been better off with just a sketch then an actual page.
