This is a new location for CKC. They've tried Va Beach and Hampton. Wonder if anyone plans to go this weekend, even with the hurricane lurking in the south.

Well, I'm supposed to go with my BFF scrapping buddy to the early Thurs scrapping and I signed up for two classes on Fri. Not planning to be there past Fri. But I am keeping my eye on the storm. Since I live up in MD, I'm not relishing driving home in the midst of a hurricane. Timing sucks on this one! (And this is my first CKC) I'll have to see if they give refunds for destructive forces of nature lol.

I had planned to drive up to CKC Richmond but I will adjust that depending on the weather here in Va Beach

Did anyone go? How were your classes? I went both days. The show was half the size of the Lancaster show. I heard that some of the bigger vendors lost their shirts at the Hartford show the week before and dropped out of this show. Some used the hurricane to cancel. They said Hartford was the worst show ever and they couldn't afford another loss. Melissa Francis dropped out of the Richmond show. I don't know how the vendors did but several said they won't come back. People blame CK and their failure to advertise enough. I still spent money and bought plenty of stuff. I did not take classes. It seemed much busier on Saturday but at Lancaster people are lined up and wrapped around to get in. At Richmond there was no line at all - like 10 people came in when it opened. We don't have any LSS left in southeastern Virginia so I am so surprised that the scrappers don't support the opportunity to have a major convention. The Stamp and Scrap show is next weekend in Hampton but I don't stamp and the only scrapbook vendor is pretty much CTMH. So in summary, the show was very small it seems for several reasons, but I still enjoyed it and was glad to be there buying stuff for my hobby obsession!
