LOL. So a friend of mine put up a post about her indecision about her educational path/career journey. It looked something like this: "I don't know what to do! Do I go the ECPBJ route or the BNDE route with my XYZPN, or maybe I should just do the VGR with the XYZPN and then stop. So hard to decide!" I said "I have no idea what all those acronyms stand for, so I'm not much help but good luck!" She just said "Thanks!" lol!!! NOOOOO!!! Tell me what you are talking about! (Acronyms changed to protect the innocent!)

oooh yes. I hate that. And then you get the people who get to display how in the know they are by commenting and not one of them bothers to explain what's going on. It's just rude to not explain when someone asks. Just because they don't automatically know the jargon doesn't mean they don't have anything thoughtful to add to the conversation.
Goobers.

There are about 10 replies that say "I totally get you" Or "That is difficult" followed by more jibberish. I feel so dumb!

Well, see, no one knows what's going on and they are all just posting vague answers to sound like they are in the know. Just say "Good luck on your decision. I know it's tough!" so you sound like one of the cool people too.

It pisses me off when you call customer service for something and they speak like that. I'll call them on it too. "I'm sorry, but I'm not an xxxx technician. I'm sure you use those terms in every day life, but those of us in the real world don't use them so do you mind explaining them?"
sets me on edge.

I have a cousin that is known for that.. especially the letters? I also have a sister who speaks 'hippie language' (no offense the hippies I have a few in my family) but DH doesn't understand what she's saying half the time. He will ask me to interpret her Facebook status sometimes. Lots of big unfamiliar words and we're both pretty educated but sometimes I shake my head.

I rmember the first time I heard the term "notebook" instead of "laptop". The IT guy at work asked me look for the registration numbers on my notebook. I'm thinking "Why does he need to know anything about the (paper) notebook that I write in?" Then they start on about network cables, WPAs, SLAs, PPIs..... seriously I have no idea what you're talking about! ETA: Ok, I realise that "notebook" is hardly a technical term, but still..........
