I feel so silly asking but I am not sure how to cook this. I cook fried shrimp, garlic butter shrimp in the oven in the oven, etc but tonight I am making a flat iron steak. What I see in my mind are those little skewers of shrimp you get that have nice little grilled, sauteed edges. What I see in reality is I don't want to thread those little buggers and I don't really want to grill them. Even though now that I think about it, I am grilling the steak, it would make sense. I do have one of those grill pans for the grill for veggies. I could use that.
I guess what I am saying is I love the flavor I get doing the shrimp in the oven with butter and garlic but I don't want to do the oven. No nice crispy edges. So how do I get the flavor but grill them in the pan outside?

Blot your thawed or fresh raw shrimp so you get all the moisture out. Get a skillet blazing hot, throw in some butter, garlic and paprika or cayenne then toss in the shrimp. Cook until they are pink and are brown. It only takes a couple minutes. Dry shrimp, really hot pan to make them brown a bit. I usually squeeze some lemon over it after it is cooked. If the shrimp aren't real dry they kind of boil in the moisture. I like my shrimp browned.

Probably not really what you are looking for, but maybe sort of...this is my all time favorite way to make shrimp. The boys inhaled it when I made it-spinach and all, even during the days that they turned their picky noses up at spinach. I never put the crushed red pepper in mine, I don't care for the added spice. Shrimp Scampi w/Roasted Red Pepper and Spinach

We always grill our shrimp!! just thread them on a screwer that's been soaked and grill til nice and pink, and a bit charry on the edges. We do directly on the grill. We like to just dip them in melted butter, and eat.

Well, I couldn't find my skewers so we just went with the butter, garlic and pan method tonight. I do plan on checking and make the other recipes at some point.
I knew I could count on some yumminess here!
