I'm looking to purchase a 2 or 2-1/2" circle punch. Yes, you read that right. A low-tech, old fashioned, old-school hand-held punch. Plain circle and/or scalloped. I have a few small punchs, mostly from 10+ years ago, so I'm not sure which current brands might be good ones to consider. The online reviews are all over the place, so they're not much help. I'll mostly be using it on thin materials, like magazine and advertisement type pages, plus occasionally on regular scrapbook paper and card stock. Nothing thick or heavy duty. Any recommendations for me to consider? TIA

the Whale punches are still my favorite. so easy to use! if I couldn't get those, I'd use the lever-style that can be held easily. I never liked the CM ones because they were so cumbersome.

I can't tell you what to buy cuz I only have one - but I can tell you what NOT to buy - the Fiskars squeeze punches. They look like such a great idea, but they're the worst! There is no room between the punch area and the end of your paper so that you have to cut right up to the thing being punched in order to get the circle into the punch area. Go for EK Success - I have one of those for aholiday punch and it's great. Stay away from the squeeze punches unless you don't mind having to cut into the paper right up to the circle. UGH!!
(Also have Creative Memories circle cutters and they're great - but harder to get)

They look like they would be easy to use, but the paper placement would be beyond annoying! Creative Memories - Yes! Those are the punches I have! Very nice, but small. I'd like something bigger to add to my stash. I think I'll seek out the EK Success brand and try one out. Thanks all!

Yes, these are nice. The Marvy Uchida punches are easier to punch though. They are not as easy to store.

I like to use circle punches a lot too. I use some Stampin' Up ones, and a Fiskars one. All have held up well for years!

Me, too. I have even tossed some other punches and replaced with EK Success. They make a nice, clean cut.

I've been converting my punches to the EK brand because they are easier to store.

Well, I took a leap of faith and ordered 3 different EK Success circle punches from Amazon. (I love Amazon Prime).
I can't wait to get them and try them out!
Thanks for the recommendations.

I use my punches upside down way more than I use them right side up!
