Thanks for the tip. I was on the look out for a new trimmer but did manage to score the Tonic small base 12x12 guillotine recently. Otherwise, I was seriously considering the Cutterpillar.

It is so tempting. It usually goes to around 40% off (and this is really close) during black friday weekend and I'm trying to wait until then to buy (since then is when I'll have the money, lol). SOOOO tempting, though!!!

I've been using the small base 12x12 for a few years and it started cutting wonky thanks to DH cutting too many sheets of paper at one time with it. I went back and forth for like a month trying to decide between the two trimmers and eventually decided to just get another Tonic guillotine. I'm happy I did, but still mildly interested in the Cutterpillar.

I didn't even know they made one in that size. I've seen the bigger one demo'd at a couple of expos but that was a couple of years ago. Good price but I just, as in 10 minutes ago, bought the Scrapaholic on sale. Enjoy your new cutter. Maybe I'll check it out on Black Friday.

I have a tonic and am not a fan. I hope this one is better! I really don't see why it's so hard to make a decent trimmer.

I have to cut a dozen pages at a time and just ordered the Carl. I used my Citibank points and it was free. I have two other trimmers I use for just my personal pages.

I just got this for my birthday. I was about to throw my Fiskars rotary trimmer our the window because the edge you line the paper up to was a tiny bit crooked and it was driving me made when trying to matt my pages on cardstock for a thin border. I love it! Cut's straight and cuts the paper so much easier than my other trimmer. I do get a bit of 'fluff' on some of the cuts, but I think I just need to play with it a bit and work out how much pressure I need to use. glad to hear you like it I got a shipping notice this morning, so I should have it in my hot little hands soon!

I really don't see why it's so hard to make a decent trimmer. Seriously! I like my current Fiskars, but don't love it, and have had to replace the guide wire twice. I dislike my Stampin Up trimmer. If I had any counterspace, I would get the Cutterpillar or the Crop, but I don't have a dedicated space for a trimmer. Mine usually lives on top of my trash can until I need it.

I'm on my 3rd fiskars with the wire and it cuts so crookedly, I may as well do it by hand. I don't have room for a new trimmer either but am sort of at my wits' end. it's taking the joy out of scrapping for me (which is dumb but true)

I don't think it's dumb at all. We use our trimmers multiple times, every single time we craft. It should not make us crazy. I can justify the cost per use, but it's the space issue that holds me back. Maybe I will make it my goal to make space (somewhere) on my desk for a Cutterpillar Crop in the next couple months, and I will ask for one for Christmas. Yep, I am going to start cleaning and reorganizing now. Let me know what you decide to do.
