A girl that I worked with came to the office Halloween party as a slot machine. She went with the older style of slot with a pull arm. She started with a box big enough to put over herself and painted it up. She added battery operated lights to it too. It was fun.

Says the person who requested that everyone wear white to her birthday party. ....and recently had her own thread asking for help finding a Great Gatsby costume because she was attending a themed party. There wasn't any mention then about the struggle of "stumped" creativity, just positive, helpful responses. Some of these ideas are so awesome, I wish someone would invite me to a Vegas party! My favorite Las Vegas movie is Swingers, but unless you feel like dressing up in a suit and telling everyone you see that they're "so money, baby!" I'm not really sure how you could work with that one

I'm no help. My favorite part of visiting Las Vegas was the tour of Hoover Dam. I have no idea who performs there other than Celine Dion and I'm not even sure if she is performing currently.

Honestly I think it sucks. I want to pick a costume that interests me, not brainstorm some idea to your vision than search for the items to make it myself. It's so much easier for me to just buy a costume and I love looking around to see what I would like to dress up as. I think if everyone has to ask you what you are, than your costume missed the mark. I love Halloween and love picking out my own costume to my own vision. Then. The word you are looking for is then.

ginacivey and annabella - You're right. I am just a grammar nerd who clearly got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I apologize for my rude comment.

I apologize for my rude comment. no harm no foul i love grammar too..and as i hit 'post' i thought did i use 'whose' correctly i think sometimes we get caught up in things and look for little things to pick on annabella is a good person (and i base this on life outside message boards) - she doesn't always reply how people expect people to reply (and honestly, neither do i) but she seems to always be a target - probably cos she laughs it off and doesn't fight back - too much! gina

"I'm going to a theme party next month and need a great gatsby dress. I don't want to order a dress from amazon because I don't know about the quality and sizing." That was from your thread. "Why do they have to have a theme? That stumps your creativity." Your reaction to this thread. Why are you calling my ability to read into question?

Why are you calling my ability to read into question? Because you're still not comprehending what I'm saying, this so stupid. The Gatsby Party did not stump my creativity, I didn't know which stores sold vintage dresses. Do you understand that now? Read what you quoted. I've thrown a Halloween party once and let people have free reign as to what they wanted to wear. I didn't dictate some stupid white trash theme or superhero theme, I let people pick whatever they wanted to wear.

Why does one theme party (an all white birthday party or a Great Gatsby party) not stifle someone's creativity but a Vegas themed Halloween party does? Why is a Great Gatsby themed party fine and dandy, but a "superhero theme" stupid? They are the same thing.

So terrible, but I'd buy a stuffed white tiger and attach him to my neck and add red paint. Though I'd have to Google whether I was Siegfried or Roy.

I would go as a poker chip, but I'm a costume minimalist.
