The theme this year is "Vegas Baby" and the invite says to come as your favorite Vegas character (tourist, performer ... )
This is a yearly party we do during bunco, so all women. Vegas style games, costume prizes, fun stuff like that.
What would you go as? I just can't decide thank you for your ideas!

I did a "Waking up in Vegas" costume last year celebrating an evening of bad choices. Bachelorette Party tank top, a plastic shot glass necklace, sleep mask on my head, "slept in" make up and hair, handcuff hanging off of one wrist, a stick on nose piercing with some red makeup on it to look new and infected, and a new tattoo that proudly exclaimed "LOS VAGES!"
If you had some good photo shop skills you could add some pictures of your wild night, or add a printout of a restraining order for some Vegas celebrity.

I would totally go as: Raoul Duke from Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas! Or you could a Queen of Hearts theme, make a color with heart playing cards, where a red dress. A playing card? life size that you wear Alan from the Hangover

My costume for this year is a Vegas cocktail waitress modeled on the attached photo. I'm also going to make myself a headband with the retro "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign glued to it.

Get a lion costume and be the MGM grand lion.
Get an eiffel tower costume and be the Paris Las Vegas hotel.
Get a chef coat and a british accent and be Gordon Ramsay (or any other celeb chef).
Get a suit and a deck of cards and don't speak all night and be Teller. Bonus points if you have someone to be Penn.

Siegfried and Roy and have little stuffed lions and tigers and a hoop for them to jump through? I'd go one step further (seeing as I think it is morally wrong to use animals in shows like this) so I'd go with a toy tiger, fake blood and ripped clothes....Roy "after"

You could go as Joy from What Happens in Vegas. Wear a cute dress and carry a large $3 million dollar cheque made out to Jack Fuller.

Why do they have to have a theme? That stumps your creativity. I heard the Oceans 11 movie is going to be remade with a female cast. There are some sexy female elvis costumes.

I've never really thought about it, just for fun I suppose. I doubt they would throw anyone out for not following the theme Usually the decorations, food and games go with the theme. Thanks all for the great ideas!

Says the person who requested that everyone wear white to her birthday party. Themes are fun especially for adult Halloween parties. (says the person who is having the pea declared politically insensitive People of Walmart party)

I love some of the ideas peAple posted!!! Ugh, I was going to show you a pik of a very EASY costume I made years ago, but Photobucket is being weird. I got a large posterboard and drew the Queen of Hearts card and attached ribbon to tie around my neck, did my makeup to look like her, and just wore all black underneath. (You can get the bright white, red, and black makeup at any dollar store). You could also dress as a die (I think that's the singular of dice?) Get a big square box and spray paint it black and paint big white dots on it. To be able to wear it, you could either attach long ribbons and it would tie around the back of your neck, OR---depending on how the box fits, you could cut out arm holes.

Why do they have to have a theme? That stumps your creativity. I think it depends on how you look at it. Themed parties can be a lot of fun and you really have to be creative to come up with some kind of Vegas themed costume - I think it kind of encourages creativity Save

I want to pick a costume that interests me, not brainstorm some idea to your vision than search for the items to make it myself. It's so much easier for me to just buy a costume and I love looking around to see what I would like to dress up as. I think if everyone has to ask you what you are, than your costume missed the mark. I love Halloween and love picking out my own costume to my own vision.

Says the person who requested that everyone wear white to her birthday party. There's no comparison here, try again. there's absolutely a comparison there! you said that you hate themed Halloween parties because (sorry don't know how to double quote):
"Honestly I think it sucks. I want to pick a costume that interests me, not brainstorm some idea to your vision than search for the items to make it myself. It's so much easier for me to just buy a costume and I love looking around to see what I would like to dress up as. I think if everyone has to ask you what you are, than your costume missed the mark. (bolding is my own) that's *exactly* how I would feel if I were invited to an all-x color party. I want to pick out what I feel comfortable in, in the colors I like and that are flattering to me, and put together my look. now I have to brainstorm an idea for an outfit in all white, and try to find those styles in that color.
