I bought some Este Lauder creme that is for reversing lines/wrinkles. How I use it: Remove makeup with coconut oil then rinse face. Put on my eye creme (Este Lauder Night Repair Eye Cream), then lotion up my whole face with the Este Lauder night cream. Rub it in. I love it when I put it on, but after an hour or so, when I rub my face is kinda 'balls' up. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong? Is it me? The lotion? Anyone know? Here is the lotion I am talking about. LOTION

In my opinion, I would be worried that the coconut oil is forming sort of a barrier that prevents your skin from absorbing the lotion.

I'm using a loreal face cream that does that. I do not like it. Switched to THISHave no review bc I just received it in the mail. Does not ball up on my skin though!

I don't know about other products, but sometimes when someone uses too much of a Mary Kay product it call ball up like what you're describing. Instead of rubbing it in, could you just smooth it on and let your skin absorb it? If it continues to ball up on you, try using less of it. If you need to, you could dampen your fingertips with water and mix a small amount of water with the lotion before applying. I'm wondering if this night cream by Mary Kay is comparable to the one you're using? It's considerably less expensive.

I also wonder if the coconut oil is keeping the night cream from absorbing properly. I have been using Garnier Sleeping Cream and I really like it.

I will try the water trick.

Honestly, my first thought is that the coconut oil is keeping both the eye cream and the night cream from being absorbed into your skin. When I was using coconut oil more often, I didn't use anything else on my skin.

You said you rinse your face after using the coconut oil...what does that do as oil and water don't mix? I have to agree about the creme sitting on top of the oil. It may have been ok with other products but there seems to be something about this one that's reacting differently. At the moment it sounds like it won't actually be sinking in and having any effect on your skin at all, which is a shame - and a bit of a waste of money!
