Out city restricts campaign signs on public property to 30 days prior to an election, so in the last week we have been flooded with signs everywhere. Most are for local races, a few for the congressional race but absolutely zero that DH or I have seen are for the presidential race. I know we are not a battleground state, but we live in a Republican leaning district and there has always been some signage out there in the past. The other thing we have noticed is how few bumper stickers there are. I know this is completely unscientific, but driving 50 miles today we didn't see a single one. What are you seeing in your area?

I had someone ask on FB why there are no Hillary signs out on people's lawns. She has only seen Trump. I admit I haven't looked, but it seems I haven't seen either one, just local signs. But these people are Trump crazy, so I think they are just poking the puppy.

I live in Ventura county and commute 50 miles each way to work and you're right. Other than local elections I've not seen a single presidential sign or bumper sticker. Do you think it's because emotions are running so high during this election people are afraid of damage to property?

I haven't seen many for either candidate. I remember four years ago reading articles about how yard signs aren't all that effective for gaining votes. I've thought about that. I haven't seen a lot of bumper stickers either. I had someone take mine off my car years ago and I've not put one on again figuring someone might do worse.

I have seen signs for both. The one(s) I found interesting was a spot or three with signs for local, state and federal. All for Republicans, locally, Paul Ryan etc. but sign for presidential race was for Clinton/Kaine.

Or maybe people are so lukewarm over the candidates they don't want to advertise/endorse on either side.

I have been seeing a ton of signs for local/state candidates but also some Trump/Pence. I haven't seen any Hillary signs that I can remember. I haven't seen any bumper stickers for either party.

I noticed it too. Normally around this time there would be signs for both candidates all over people's yards, but not this year. I've only seen only one sign (for Trump) but it was in a generic spot where there are signs for pretty much every candidate running for anything.

I've seen some for trump, none for Hillary, but I live in a rural, conservative area.
In all honesty, I would not have a Hillary sign due to fear of vandalism or something else. The trump supporters I know are a little cray-cray.

I have seen the normal amount of yard signs for local elections but very few for the presidential election. A few weeks back I drove to a very rural location about 90 minutes away and saw a few Trump signs but that's really it. I think I've seen as many Giant Meteor bumper stickers as I have Trump or Hillary bumper stickers. I have no doubt that the lack of signs and stickers directly correlates to how dismal the voting public finds the candidates.

Lots of Trump yard signs in some areas North of us that I've driven thru recently. Around the neighborhood mostly local election stuff and a couple of Trump signs. No Hillary signs in yards.
Two Puerto Rican restaurants near us have out both Trump and Hillary signs...whatever that means.

We can have them out 60 days in advance, but I've noticed that a lot more have gone up in the past week or so. Sadly what I've seen is a Hillary sign go up and then a Trump sign the next day next door. Or vice versa. To me, it appears that it's more of a tit for tat than a sign of real support.
To be honest, it's more than I want to know about my neighbors.

We drove thru Eastern Washington (the conservative side of our state) and saw about a dozen for Trump and one for Hilary...all in fields in rural agricultural areas.

There is one sign in our neighborhood for Johnson and then two signs at another house for local races. I too have been surprised at the lack of signage and bumper stickers, although given the ones I HAVE seen, Im thankful they are few and far between.

We went for a ride in the countryside. Saw tons of Trump signs, one Hillary sign. In the areas I would expect to find more Hillary than Donald signs, there were none. Maybe it's because the Hillary signs cost a donation fee? That's what DH said. He was a bit indignant that a sign would cost a fee. Not that I want any political signs in my yard.

I have several taped on the inside of our main floor bay window. Yard signs are being stolen in our area. My aunt and uncle have to bring their signs inside every night or they would go missing and I honestly don't give two figs what my neighbors think, the only neighbors we socialize with have the same signs we do and in 25 days they'll all be gone.

I also think that campaigns aren't really spending the kind of money on yard signs like they used to spend. Their money is better spent in other ways.

Well, I agree, unless they want them in a lot of yards. Obviously Trump does. I don't know how you got yours for free, I just know DH keeps getting emails from Hillary's campaign offering to sell him one.

It seems like when I see someone with Trump stickers on their vehicle the entire car/truck is covered with them. There are usually a few of the "Put Killerary in jail" type stickers on there, too. Overboard.

I've only seen 2 Trump bumper stickers in the last week or so but that's been it for the entire election. No yard signs for any candidate (even local stuff), maybe my neighborhood is just not into this election.

Has he tried the local campaign office? or maybe the local Democratic party office? I went to HRC's local campaign office to gets mine and several other Democrat's signs.
Now I did have to make a donation to get several other things, such as my "woman card" and a "Stronger Together" large round magnet that I have our on fridge.

DH and I were just talking about this. We have seen little to nothing.... 4 years ago it looked liked the RNC had carpet bombed our area with yard signs and bumper stickers. Outside of the capital city, Indiana is about as a Republican as you will find. It is all very interesting though based on where we live. We are out in the country where 4 different towns sort of blend together- the 2 most affluent suburbs of the capital city, our own county seat, and one of the small towns that made national news for an offensive political parade float this year. Local election signs are starting to pop up, but there is very little to even vote on there since there are rarely any Democrats even running. There are a lot of signs for the Democrat running for governor in all 4 communities- I would have never dreamed of seeing those in years past around here. But we all expected him to be running against Pence, and to say that he was not well liked as governor would be putting it mildly. I have only seen a handful of Clinton signs, all in the county seat (a lower income, high Hispanic population, lower socioeconomic community) and all were next to neighbors with Trump signs. But the lack of signs for Trump in the affluent suburbs really has us wondering if people aren't willing to admit support or really won't support. The polls we are hearing here show his lead to be within the margin of error at this point... In his running mate's home state!? The Trump signs all seem to be in areas that fall right into his demographic of supporters. And many of those are what we have started calling the Trump trifecta displays.... official Trump sign + homemade Hillary for Prison/something about Benghazi sign + a confederate flag. And just as a previous poster said, there is no way I would put up a sign for any candidate in this day and age. There are too many whackos out there just looking for an excuse to vandalize something, especially out here in a rural area where they think they can get away with it easier. And on the bright side, there will be less of them littering up all of the side ditches and road sides for the rest of the fall & winter months.

The only sign on my street is this one. She recently replaced it with one that shows all 4 candidates and NONE below it. A couple of streets over there are about 5 Trump signs. Other than that, I haven't really noticed many signs. I do see a few bumper stickers and most of those are for Hilary. I never post signs or bumper stickers because I'm of the school that it's not really anyone's business who I'm voting for!

The people directly across the street from me have a Hillary sign. It is the only lawn sign that I've seen in this neighborhood. It has been there since the primary. When it first went up I told my husband the sign was going to last about as long as a fart in a whirlwind. I thought vandalism would destroy it but it has been standing since June. I haven't noticed any bumper stickers this year.

I would never put a bumper sticker on my car, no matter how much I support a candidate. It stays on your car long past the election.

And, I live in a very wealthy, Republican neighborhood--and I've seen Trump signs being taken down!

I've had two signs up since June ... first one disappeared, but I think it got hooked by the garbage truck, not vandals. Both of mine were free from the county Democratic committee. I know yard signs are no longer a big deal but I always put them up. My house is at the end of a court, so both my neighbors and anyone driving by on the main street get the benefit of my political opinions. I like that. In my town, at least on my usual routes, I've seen a few Hillary signs but not one single Trump sign. It kind of surprises me. But there are a boatload for local races. I like it. I don't even have to ask anyone who to vote for. Just check out the yard signs in front of houses where I know and approve the residents' political leanings. ha haha
