I think it has to do more with the fact that they just aren't pushing yard signs like they used to. This is what I think. Between the 24 hour news coverage on multiple stations and constant exposure through social media outlets, advertising who you support has moved online now. It's less expensive to do this online rather than pay the cost of signs, bumper stickers, buttons, etc.

I have not seen any Trump signs, but there are some Hillary signs in windows. I do see Hillary logo pins, etc. on the subway. It;s not surprising, since Hillary was our senator, and we're a blue state, anyway.
A dear friend of mine lives in a swing state, and her Hillary lawn sign was vandalized.

Interesting!
It does seem there are far fewer bumper stickers and yard signs in town.
But maybe just because it's a given no one would vote for trump? There are tons of signs around for our city measures however.

Dh and I have Hillary Magnets on our cars. But we live in a neighborhood that is made up of approximately 80% immigrants. Not much danger around here of having my car damaged.

I just commented to DH that we're seeing very, very few signs this year. I agree that I can't help but think that people are so at odds with one another over this election that they don't want to publicly advertise their picks. It's a sad state we're in if that's truly the case.

Mostly just local signs around here. My DH is hoppin' mad (there really is no other term) that our neighbor put up a sign in the tiny strip of land they own that is between their driveway and our lot line. The way it's positioned can make it seem as if we are the ones supporting this person. He wanted me to check the plat, he called the city to see what the rules were, checked the HOA for rules, everything he could think of...of course, it's all OK under all the rules...the funny thing is that he isn't even particularly against this candidate or for the opponent, he's just mad it looks like we have a political opinion posted in public.

Trump signs keep getting stolen here in WNY. Republican headquarters in Erie county could barely keep up with the demand. Though I see more signs for local offices than the presidential race.

I purposely looked and counted on the way to work, from work to the bank, two stores and home.
The tally is: 1 for Hillary, 1 for Trump, 8 for a senator (5 are on the street he lives on and the other 3 on the next two streets), 2 for a sheriff, 1 for something in town and the position he's running for is in such a small font you can't read it from the road.

On my morning walk recently I came across 2 signs. One relatively benign Clinton/Kaine/Breyer (local candidate). The house across the street had a large Hillary For Prison yard sign.
I've changed my route for the duration of the season. Because I believe in support not denigration.

I hate political signs and refuse to have them in my yard. Our neighborhood is usually full of the signs during election cycles. This year there are two. Both are for Trump and they live next door to each other. Even at intersections, etc where there are usually a lot of signs there is nothing now. It is kind of weird.
We went to Philadelphia last weekend to see our son. On the back road we take to the highway, we passed a house with a lot of Trump signs and a large Confederate flag. DH (who is a Republican) said, "do they know they live in Pennsylvania?"

I don't even have to ask anyone who to vote for. Just check out the yard signs in front of houses where I know and approve the residents' political leanings. ha haha Wait, isn't this how you're supposed to vet candidates? We and our neighbors have admitted to each other that we sometimes vote based on each others' signs. We already align politically. So WE vote for judges they (lawyers) support and THEY vote for school board candidates I (teacher) support. Works for us. 'Cause we do it so mindfully. Heh.

I have not seen one Trump sign in my area. Not a one. All Hillary signs, but many fewer than the Obama signs of yore.
Also lots of "Vote Yes" and "Vote No" signs. I should probably look into that...

I drove behind a pickup with a Trump bumper sticker. The only other sticker on that vehicle said:" Grandma's old washtub is a still".

I live in NY, a supposedly blue state. But I have not seen one Clinton sign in my neck of the woods. Not many Trump signs either, but they are scattered here and there. More for local candidates. I did see one Bernie sign though, and it's still there! I cheer silently every time I drive by!

I remember having this same thread 4 years ago. Honestly, yard signs are just not a cost effective way to promote your candidate anymore (on a national level). Facebook, Twitter. television, robo calls-- all will reach so many more people at a fraction of the cost. I think if you request one, you'll get it. But unless you are in a highly "battleground" area--campaign workers aren't going door to door with signs anymore.

I've seen fewer than usual too. I fully committed with a Clinton bumper sticker!
