I use Cozi and I do not use gold. I set reminders and it alerts with a pop and a sound. If I have my phone on vibrate the sound does not go off, just the pop up and it vibrates.

Cozi is the bomb! It is really working well for our family. I do not have the gold.

We use Cozi as a family and love it. Hubby puts EVERYTHING on there now. You don't need Gold unless you don't want to see the ads but they're not bad at all. I believe Gold has a few more features but we have everything we need with the regular. I'm not sure how it's backed up but we've used it for probably 3 years with never an issue.

I don't use Gold and the ads don't bother me. I get an alert (no sound) on my phone, but I need to go back & change it somehow to getting an email like I used to. I tend to set my reminders for 1-3 days in advance and I like having a reminder in my inbox.

The reason I think it's better than the calendar that comes with my iphone is that it's so easy to share it with my family. My husband can add stuff and we can both see all the appointments. Also, it's web based, so you can access it from a computer (sometimes easier to add lots of things that way - like the school days off) if needed or if something happens to your phone.

I love Cozi and do not have the Gold version. I love that you can color code it for individual family members. Everyone has an Iphone so the teens can add to Cozi and check it whenever they want. Love it!

I have Gold & am not sure what all the differences are. There is a birthday tracker list, personalized photo, change the backgrounds, up to 3 reminders for each entry.
Since it is shared, I only use the reminders for important things (when my husband needs to pick up the kids).
We use the shopping lists & to do lists. They have a shared contact book so I uploaded emergency phone numbers that my kids/husband might not have.
I find it very easy to use. The $30 was a bit much to pay but I previously spent $20 for my paper calendar so I rationalized it that way.
I also am able to print a month view & put in on the refrigerator so my youngest can see their schedules (they don't have phones).

Thanks kristi I'm thinking contacts would make it worthwhile.
What does the meals do? If you use it?
