Looking into online homework assignment programs. If your child's school uses one, would you recommend it?

Many districts in my area use programs. They also post up to date grades so parents can keep tabs on their kids progress.
Dhs and the kids district uses Aeries and dhs also uses a new program that is more like a blog.
Some teachers for the kids district uses the school site to post homework.
Oh and Aeries also shows attendence

Yes, my child's is, but not the district I work in. I wish we used it.

We post marks online and I post assignment outlines. I don't give much homework, other than projects or reading. I'm wondering: is homework posted worksheet stuff, that they would print out at home and return?

Yes- Schoology. We had one teacher last year decide that he wasn't going to use it, but that was quickly changed since the district sold it to parents as a way to be connected and did away with the traditional planners and started a 1 to 1 program with technology.
ETA: The grade system is Skyward, which is fine, but I hate having two things to look at. It would be nice if it was the same.

We use RenWeb and all the teachers post homework for the coming week on Sunday. I LoVE this! We print it out and use it all week long to make sure each kid is on track throughout the week. We can also see the teachers grade book and lesson plans.

My district uses a program called eChalk. We also have Google pages since our email is through Google. I get frustrated that I am required to put all of this info up on my pages and so many students and parents do not bother to use it. I need to do something this year to really encourage more use.

No but I wish ours did because my oldest nephew has ADHD and even with another student helping him remember he still forgets to write half of his assignments in the planner. Thankfully the teachers are understanding and send home reminders of things we missed and he rarely gets points deducted for late assignments.

We use PowerSchool. There are still those parents that refuse to use it but I will teach students how to access it because I get so sick of constantly looking stuff up for them. After I teach them they are expected to check themselves (high schoolers). I do tell parents they can call the office for their sign in info I'd they need it.

Some teachers do, some don't. Some use their own websites, some use emodo, and some just put links in the schools grade book program. I do appreciate it when they do post the homework. Especially if it is a paper and the jerky kid down the street ripped my kids copy. That was blessedly helpful then.

In middle school, it was not posted consistently, but I understand that our high school does a much better job of posting it. I hope so, since I will have two high school freshmen on August 18!

DD's last school district used School Loop, which was good. It showed grades and assignments (as long as the teachers updated it; some were definitely better than others). She's starting high school in two weeks, and the district here uses Aeries.

ddly, our district uses Powerschool for our gradebook. Parents can get log-ins but they have to physically come into the school to sign up for it. The students are not allowed to sign up themselves. My colleagues and I think this is crazy because it is their information, afterall. We have some parents who just will not come in to sign up either because of work schedules or pure stubborness.
