My middle DD is applying for a summer job at a luxury hotel out in Alberta (she's taking travel & tourism) - it will pay well, and her living expenses are taken off her pay (very reasonable too!).
She asked me to edit her cover letter to make it sound professional - and I suck at it. I've tweaked it a bit - but could use more pointers!

Dear Management,
I am writing to express my interest in a summer job placement at your XXXXX location. I am currently enrolled in the Global Travel and Tourism program at XXX College and would like to further understand the Hospitality/Hotel industry at one of your locations.
I have 3 years experience in customer service. While much of my experience has solely been assisting customers at Royal Distributing, I understand the value of the hotel sector and feel I would be an asset to your organization.
My responsibilities included assisting customers in finding the right size and fit for motorcycle and snowmobiling apparel and helmets, checking out the customers, and creating orders for items not in stock. I provided customers with information on sizing and protection on certain items as well. I also assisted the manager in planning out upcoming sales and helped to plan out the store floor when new product came in. Located in the back of the building was our warehouse department and I often assisted in store returns and the shipping out of products. I worked closely with other employees and we were an effective team.
This experience has taught me how to build strong relationships with all departments in an organization. I have the ability to work within a team and the ability to work exceptionally well under pressure.
