I need to find shoes for my little guy. He is an 11.5 so I would get that or maybe a 12. With the uniform guidelines he has to have black or white and the accents on the shoe have to be limited and if there are some they have to be black, white or gray. SO I have looked in some stores and haven't had any luck. He is still working on tying (he is 5) so velcro or partial tie would be nice. Payless has full black shoes but I really didn't care for them. I looked and for about $50-$80 I found some. That is more than I want to spend because I also have to get his dress shoes for dress days at school and those have to be solid black loafers or ties. I do want decent and quality and usually find great shoes at Nordstrom Rack or Marshalls but I haven't had any luck there in the past couple of weeks and school starts in 2 weeks so I need to get some ordered. I have checked 6PM and Zappos. Are there any discount shoe sources online that have little kids sizes that you had a good experience with? TIA
ETA: They can't be canvas.

My ds went to private school, with similar shoe restrictions. I always order from Zappos. Their site allows search by the restrictions we needed, ie. size, color, price, brand, etc. They have super fast shipping. Shoes are usually in hand within 24 hours and returns were simple the one time it was necessary.
Eta: I missed that you tried Zappos. I'm sorry that is my best suggestion. We have on occasion found what we needed for shoes in the uniform section of LandsEnd or at our local Steppin' Up shoe store.

Has anyone used Shoebuy before? I found some athletic shoes on there that are New Balance and fit the bill. Thinking I should order the size 12. He is in 11.5 now. I hate ordering shoes online but it is tax free weekend and the stores are packed. I was already out yesterday.

Lands End had one that might be nice for winter but I will wait a bit to see his size then and what works best. I did find a New Balance pair on Shoe Buy and ordered him one pair. They were 20% off and they had his size. Now to find dress shoes. We had a pair of black dress shoes and somehow on our last trip we left one shoe in the room so we returned home with one shoe! I have been told they only wear their dress uniform maybe a dozen times a year or less so I we won't need that pair super often. So far he has been a pretty slow growing little guy. Maybe he will hit a growth spurt but he tends to wear things out before he out grows them.

We have used Shoe Buy for years. They have super easy returns.
Are you on any FB b/s/t groups for your city? That might be a way to find the dress shoes.

I am on some groups but haven't seen any. I might hit a few resale stores next week for dress shoes. It is hard to spend $$$ when he might need them 2-3 times this semester.

I went back on Lands End site and ordered their dress shoes. With a coupon code they were $33 and no shipping or tax! Plus, I got him his dress shirt, 2 polo short sleeve and 1 polo long sleeve for $93 total! Yoo hoo I was looking at not much less than that for one pair of dress shoes on Zappos. We often find Geox brand at Nordestrom and love how they feel and wear. I will have to be on the look out now that we know what he needs. Hopefully the pair from Shoe Buy will work well too. Thanks, peas!

DS has the all season moccasins from Lands end this year for uniform shoes. They are all black, and wear more like a slip on tennis shoe.
Nike carries an all black shoe as well.

Tania-He has a pair of Nike shoes that we love and they show them online but they had gray laces. They have to have black or white. I suppose we might be switching out laces in the future to make some shoes work. Not a big deal. I like the Lands End pair and might consider them for winter.
