I think this will be our last week printing these letters for one of the local elementary schools and I am going to miss seeing these unusual and creative names.
Galilee - I like this one Dorita- Hmm. plain or ranch Cloudy Chasidi-Kre8tive Lethaniel - I might like this too. Lynoka Wyzetta Lorea- I really like this one Ozell Chhaya- No clue Sesalie - Cicely? Rhodaliah- combination of rhododendron and dahlia?
Any how many ways can you spell Kaitlin, Caitlyn, Katelyn, Catelyn, etc...
Seems most of the boys have mostly normal names.

Wonder if Chhaya is a typo for Chaya, a very pretty Hebrew name. The ch in not pronounced like ch chance, but a sound not in English and often converted to an H sound (the reason why Hanukkah can start with an H or a Ch like Chanukah)

I would guess that Sesalie is pronounced like Cecily as opposed to Cicely.

I knew a Chaya, just one h. Pronounced like Chy-a. She was Hispanic so I always thought of that as a Spanish name, could be wrong about that though. Dorita is a diminutive of Dora, too bad people think of chips.
I like Rhodalia in a way, it sounds very old-fashioned. Like a heroine in a historical romance.
I like interesting names!

Lorea- I really like this one Really? It sounds like a description of some sort of bodily fluid discharge. I can imagine telling a doctor "Mrs Smith's lorea is improving , less red than it was and there's only 20ml in the bag today"

There is a new little girl in my kinder group named Clementine. I actually like it, and she is a real sweetie, but the name just seems so 'little old lady' to me. We also have Florence in the group, so it is a bit last century some days!
And yes, I know that 'old lady' Clementines were once little baby Clementines - it's just not a name you hear so often these days.

It was 25th in the top 100 last year. David Cameron's little girl is called Florence.

I wonder if the Cameron's naming their daughter Florence brought the name back into prominence?

I wonder if the Cameron's naming their daughter Florence brought the name back into prominence? I don't think so, there are some I know that are older than his daughter. Maybe it was the other way round Clementine is usually in the upper class list of names that have their birth announcements in the Times or the Telegraph

I really like Ptolemy! Although I realise it's destined for a lifetime of misspelling...

reminds me of Lemuel - sounds old-fashioned to me Ptolemy. Not even kidding. I love the old classical names - that's one I haven't seen irl but it would fit nicely with Nero and Plato and Aristole and Scipio and Octavian...all of which I have seen

A friend's grandson born earlier this week was named Callington - not particularly unusual just a bit of a mouthful for such a little fella.
