My new granddaughter, daughter and SIL are driving 700 miles from Chicago. They should be here in about 2 hr. The house is warm, the cookies are baked and the t.v. Is turned on to the Cubs fame. Tomorrow, we'll have bagels and lox for breakfast. I'll make buffalo wings to eat during the Ravens game. And I'll hold and kiss my 5 week old granddaughter ALL day. No visitors till Monday. I want her all to myself. (I will share her with my husband.) it's a perfect weekend.
What at is your perfect weekend?

Enjoy the weekend with your new grand daughter!
My perfect weekend..... this weekend is pretty close. The weather has been crappy (which is not a good thing) but it's meant that I've been able to stay home and be really lazy. I've spent a lot of time on the computer, going out to dinner with friends last night, and this morning I stayed in bed until 10am and finished a good book. It's is now nearly 11am Sunday and I am still in my PJs. I don't think I'm going to get dressed until we go to MIL's for dinner tonight.
Other than a lazy weekend at home, my other version of a perfect weekend would be at the beach with my family.

I'm currently sitting backstage listening to Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (our children's chorus is part of the production). The kids are pros - they just came from a different concert across town and had a half hour break before they are at it again.
Tomorrow I'm spending the day with my 'choir orphan' - his phrase.

My perfect weekend would start Friday morning and ends Monday night. I am at the beach, in a room or place where most of the rooms overlook the water and I can hear the waves below. I have nothing to do at all. Just sleep, read, listen to the waves, look at the beach, walk in the water.
Someday I will have that weekend!

No phones, no computers, no customers. Just a good book, lots of naps, a walk in the sunshine. In other words, Peace!

Last weekend.
For DH's birthday we always did a trip, but health and budgets kept us home the last two years. Not this year! We were originally going to Charleston, but Matthew made us decide to go to Charlotte instead. Turns out that Charlotte is almost exactly the same distance from our house as it is from DD's college. That saved us a ton of driving and meant we could have brunch together on Sunday before we left for home.
DD and I found a cute little bungalow on AirBnB for less than a hotel. It was located close to everything, but in a really quiet neighborhood. I parked my van and let DD drive me everywhere. I set a budget for the weekend and DD and DH paid really close attention to it. They spent a week texting each other with ideas of where to eat and what to see. I enjoyed their planning excitement almost as much as the trip.
We spent the weekend strolling from place to place, taking in a children's science center, a farmers' market, and a movie. DH took care of himself so I didn't have to stay on him about what he ate or did he check his blood sugar. DD got to see her Dad walking strong and not whining about every step. I could see her relax as she saw how well he was doing.
I got to really ENJOY some time with my family, and that's my idea of perfection.

Sounds like a great weekend zztop11. Enjoy that little one! This time of year my favorite weekend is to be camping with warm temps and sunshine. Hayrides, apple picking, hot cider, chili for supper and a campfire with good friends. We were able to enjoy all of this last weekend and it was wonderful..

Aw! Sounds great, OP! I'm not sure exactly what my perfect weekend would be, but today was definitely not it. the kids fought, it rained all day, and DH is out for the count with a back spasm that won't give up. Definitely not what I had planned. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Sleep in until I wake up naturally. Read the paper. Have a good breakfast. Have a good workout. Massage/Facial Spa Day. Read a couple of books. Watch the sunset.

In my bed. Reading. I never have a completely free weekend so that's aspirational.
