Does it matter to you? We went on a road trip and two out of three were on the right side like our's at home. One had it on the left which felt awkward to me.
Maybe taking a bath on a road trip is weird (hotel/motel) but I find it relaxing.
If you take a bath while traveling, does it matter to you what side the faucet is on? I realize some larger jacuzzi style tubs also have it in the middle (home models).

Master bathroom is just a walk in shower - fixtures are on the right. Guest bath is tub and shower - fixtures are on the left.

I've never given it a thought before. At our current house, all three tubs are on the right. At the beach condo we just left, the shower was right, the shower/tub combo was left, and the jacuzzi tub was center.

I'm confused. Our tub controls are in the center of the end of the tub. I'm not sure I've ever seen a tub with controls on one side or the other. Am I nuts?

I assume you mean as you're standing, looking at the tub - mine is on the left in the tub/shower bathroom. In the master shower, fixtures are on the right.

The kids bathroom has it on the left, same as my previous 3 residences.
Master bath has an oversize soaker tub and it is on the right corner.

Standing and facing the tub ours is on the right. Our old house it was on the left. Doesn't bother me either way.

Standing facing the front the faucet is on the left side center of my master tub. The faucet in the guest shower is in the center.

I don't quite understand your question. Are you asking if I walked up to the side of my tub which end the faucets would be on as I stood there, on my right or on my left?

I've never thought about this before but I have rarely ever seen a tub with faucet on the right.

The house I grew up in had it on the right.
My house has it on the left. Truth be told, it only matters to me because the tub is inches away from the toilet and so there's more twisting of my back involved when turning on the shower.

In this house, they're all on the left with the exception of the master where it's in the center. I've had both and don't really care about right or left, but prefer the controls to not be on the end where you have to practically sit on the toilet to turn them on.

Mine is to the left. I have lived here for 31 years so it would probably feel unnatural for me if I used one that was on the right.

If I am standing facing my bath tub the taps are on the right.
If I am standing facing either of the showers, the taps are also on the right.

At first I didn't comprehend the question......But, I THINK you mean, when looking at the tub, which end has the faucet and handles?
Doesn't make a significant difference to me. I use the shower in my bath 99% of the time. The one tub in the house has the faucet on the right--when standing alongside the tub looking at it.

If this is indeed the question, for the master bath tub it is on the left. For the kids, on the right. Makes no different to me because you always face it. If you mean something else, both tubs have the faucet in the middle. Same with the shower in the master.

In New Zealand, the placement of a house's taps (faucets) used to depend on the bath tub. When you stood at the side of the tub, the hot tap had to be nearest the wall - so that if a child filled the tub it would be cold water not hot, if they used just one tap. All other taps in the house would then follow the same pattern. I don't know if that practice is still followed.

Surely the end the taps/faucets are on depends on which makes the most sense for the plumbing. The taps are most likely going to be at the end where most of the plumbing pipes run. Sure, pipes could be run to the other end, but at a cost, and it would need to be specifically requested.
if the plans just show the placement of the bath tub, then the taps are going to be in line with the other plumbing fixtures.
