I am amazed they are still having the conventions. Seems like they have shut down most of their other operations?
Or maybe I just lost interest after they cancelled my magazine subscription in the middle of the 3 years I paid for...

Wow - they've really pared down the list, unless they are still working on contracts for events later in the year. Happy to see St. Louis still on the list.

Wow. Though I haven't gone the last few years. They lost too many exhibitors to make it worth the long drive. It was my belief they should have kept their rates lower to keep exhibitors coming - since it's a huge expense for them anyway to fly their stuff and staff to the conf.
It reminds me of a small mall we have in town where the landlord kept raising rents and shooing out great little shops who couldn't make it work w/the high rents, which made the mall half empty, which made the remaining shops have less traffic, which meant he raised their rents to cover the shortfall, which shooed the rest of the tenants out, which closed the mall.

Thank goodness Lancaster is still on the list. I go to that one. That list makes me sad. Four shows? And two in Texas?
I love CKC and it makes me sad if they just don't have shows at all. Lancaster is always crowded but Richmond was a bust. Hampton and Va Beach Virginia was a bust when they went there.
I can still go to Expo in Chantilly also. That is a good show.

This is horrible. Phoenix didn't even make the cut. I always go. Money saved I guess. I wonder if they will have any in 2018.

That can't be all of them!! I will be so bummed, my mom and sister always come to the Manchester NH one and we spend the weekend. We get wild and crazy, hehehhehehe. Maybe they just haven't finalized all of them(I hope). I am going to email them and ask about that.

I wonder if this is just the first part of the year. We always go to the Seattle one in November and I don't see that one listed (yet?).

It's true about Manchester NH. There will be no 2017 convention. This is the response I got. We will not be hosting a convention in Manchester, NH in 2017. We are currently in process of negotiating a date to hold the convention in 2018.

They moved Lancaster up several weeks and the new dates conflict with another obligation I have each year, so I won't be able to attend This will be the first CKC I've missed in almost 10 years - I went to Buffalo a couple of times, then to Valley Forge for a few years, and have attended every year it's been held in Lancaster.

I'm happy that St. Louis is still listed. I don't think I would fly out to one.

Maybe they just don't have all the dates firm yet? That does seem like a really short list, especially since other shows still seem to be popular.

It's at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center this year. The dates are Nov. 11 & 12. It's been years since I've been to one and am not sure if it's worth it anymore. There is so much free stuff you can find on YouTube & Scrapbook.com, plus all of my online classes I still need to go through.

Yes, I know. It's been in Tacoma the last few years, but they still call it the Seattle CKC. I just meant that it isn't listed on the 2017 schedule, so maybe that means the schedule isn't yet complete...

I wonder if this is just the first part of the year. We always go to the Seattle one in November and I don't see that one listed (yet?). I went to both the Portland and the Bellevue one for many years. There were about 6-8 of us that went to Bellevue and 5-6 of us that went to Portland. Slowly our group has stopped going to first one and then both. I haven't been to either in a couple of years. I had to stop going to Bellevue first as it was usually the same weekend as a dog show my dd worked at. Each year for the past 5-6 years both conventions had gotten smaller and smaller with less classes and less vendors. I had a feeling this would happen, but it's still sad

We also feel that they are getting smaller and smaller, AND it disheartening to go to the Vendor Faire and have non-scrapbook booths like purses, clothing, etc. I'm all for those type booths at a Holiday fair or something but not when I paid to go to a scrapbooking Vendor Faire.

The Seattle show is literally going to be on my way to a weekend retreat and I'm not planning on stopping by. The vendor list is so small and the ones I recognize have neither new products nor good deals. It's the end of another era, I think

This years was so dismal. I quit doing the classes several years ago, but would usually still go by to shop once. But this year I could barely find anything to buy. It was outdated product, half the vendors, and cheesy not scrapbook related booths. Looks like Houston has replaced Tulsa's dates.

I've been every year since then, and this year's was, well, less than meh. I agree about the booths not related to scrapbooking -- why is there a booth selling oils? Selling flimsy clothing?

My guess is that this is all the shows they are having next year. I checked the dates and they go through August, so that would be more than just the first half of the year. I talked to a vendor a couple of years ago and he told me that St. Louis and Lancaster were two of the bigger shows. I have noticed over the past 10 years how the number of vendors and classes has gone down. I know there are other companies that put on scrapbook conventions. I go to CKC St. Louis, so I don't have to look for something else yet.

I went to Richmond this year, my first CKC. What a disappointment! However, my BFF scrapping buddy and I ran into some ladies there that go to Lancaster every year and love it, so we'll give that a go and hope for the best. It seems the local groups and retreats we attend are always packed and such fun! What's the deal on the larger scale events? Makes me sad.

The Portland one used to be in the Spring (I want to say April or May), so I doubt that one is going to happen this year. I haven't been in a few years because I don't have anyone to go with anymore and with parking, I spent more on parking and admission than I found to spend on scrapbook supplies It looks like Scrapbook Expo doesn't go to Portland anymore either.... bummer.

I volunteered for CKC many moons ago. They were greedy and worked volunteers to death and the vendors kept saying that their booth rentals were way too high.
