Hello peas! I’ve been around here for a long time as a guest, but felt it was time to actually join. I was on the old 2peas board, and remember being so sad when it ended. I love the wealth of information that can be found here, and look forward to participating!

Hi there!
I was on the old board some and am glad to be here. I love to scrap book!! I find myself with more ideas for pages now, then in the past.
I need to sit down with pen and paper and get those ideas put down. I have a couple books to help me with layout ideas too but I like to do them myself if I can.
I moved 2000 miles late last year and didn't bring much with me but take a wild guess what did make the trip with me?

I think I’ll go with an old paper company - sassafrass, October afternoon, etc.

Hi! I was on 2peas for many years with the same username - sheltie94. I'm Ann. I don't scrap as much as I once did. In the last few years, I get more done by scheduling time away from home to do it. I'm hoping to change that a bit this winter. I also do Project Life, and my 15yo dd has started it as well.

Hi! I've just found this forum and am glad to have found my people! I have been scrapbooking for just a few years now, but it's been difficult to find friends who have the same hobby.

Hello everyone, I'm quite new here, but I already like you all! Hello and welcome! I see you asked how to start scrapbooking. I suggest not going crazy on purchasing. Just enough to try it out. I’m traveling now but can link a few you tube videos next week

Brand new, just found this community. I'm Colleen, from Alaska. Been scrapping for about 15 years but I go in spurts and then take long breaks. I also make cards. I have three kids who are 17, 20, and 23 and I work full time as an academic advisor at a state university. I also cross stitch and crochet and love to bake. I've browsed a few boards and you guys seem like a fun group!

I am new to this site, I used to read a lot on the 2peas and get tons of ideas from the gallery. I have been away from scrapbooking for years, very interested in faithbooking, and hoping to find someone in my area that goes to crops. There are no stores around here besides the national chain ones. I have lots of older supplies to work from for now though. I can't wait to make friends and get inspired! Jay

Hey, Everyone... I just learned about this group when one of my Facebook followers tagged me in a copied post that asked where I have been. I really have fallen out of the loop, and I hope to get back with the program, so to speak.
So here I am — Ellen, aka CardMonkey, formerly with Close To My Heart until I was booted for totally contrived reasons. Simply stated, the real reason I was removed from CTMH is because I had nurtured my social media following for five years and had become “too powerful” and influential among the 5,127 Consultants (my followers) who enjoyed my straight talk. IMHO, CTMH’s new President runs the Company as a popularity contest with cliques straight out of high school. This insecurity and immaturity will drive the Company to ruin.
I likely hold the record for having received the most letters from a CTMH lawyer in the course of my 6.5 year tenure with the company. To say the least, it was distracting and disheartening. So, okay, enough about that, a little bit more about me.
I’m happily married to the love of my life, John, for almost 20 years. It’s the second go round for both of us. Last year (as a reply to the “where’s Ellen” post alluded), January 2017, while we were on a Caribbean cruise with family, John became deathly ill with some sort of paralytic disease that caused him to lose strength throughout his legs and arms; he couldn’t stand or swallow and his speech was slurred. He spent 6 weeks in the hospital and another 2 months in rehab. He came home in a wheelchair and I became his nurse. Through the grace of God and A LOT of therapy, medicine and love, he is now mostly recovered. Last September, I went into the hospital for an emergency removal of my gallbladder. While the surgeon was in exploring my gut, he willy-nilly decided to puncture my liver 4 times with biopsy needles, without consent, and sent me home to resume blood thinners. A week later, I was back in the hospital, having lost about half of my body’s blood into my liver, where the blood sat in a huge “balloon” ready to rupture. I was in critical condition in ICU. Surprising everyone, I survived! After a month in the hospital myself, I got home to recuperate, and guess what? John was readmitted to the hospital with osteomyelitis (bone infection) and sepsis (blood infection). That led to 2 weeks in the hospital for HIM, plus 6 weeks at home on IV therapy through a PICC line that carried us into January 2018. He was off antibiotics for a week when he went BACK in the hospital for a urinary tract infection that he is STILL treating. And in January 2018, CTMH’s President painted a target on my back and it’s been hellish since.
No wonder I went radio silent for a bit, ehhhhh? Well now I am back, and fighting mad that something that my joy for cardmaking has been stripped. This world is much too tough to have one’s soft spot taken away. I am looking to get the love back, now with freedom to explore paper and design like never before. The blog will have to be revamped to include my new adventure with Chalk Couture. CardMonkey is my brand but I am also now The Chalk Monkey, under the umbrella of Craft Monkeys.
I am happy to be here. Apologies for the long read; I am Irish, we love stories. ~ Love, Ellen/CardMonkey

Welcome, lolo71! Glad you found us. I am getting back into sewing by learning to quilt. I’ve not done counted cross stitch, but dd and I are learning hand embroidery this fall. Be sure to check the general scrap forum too. There is a challenge forum and a stamping forum there.
