Do you have the matching toilet lid cover/contour rug for your toilet? Do you have floor mats/rugs in the bathroom? How many is too many? I am thinking of getting rid off the lid covers, contours and any other crap (pun intended from the bathrooms. Just feels like too much clutter for me Not that the bathroom police will fine me if I don' have the covers/contour rugs - but wanted to know what the peas think .

I think it's almost unanimous here that they're gross germ magnets.

I don't have anything other than a bathmat outside of the shower for (not) slipping purposes.

We don't have a lid cover because my youngest aims poorly and kept peeing on it.

You're new here, huh?
The peas unanimously hate toilet seat covers and contour rugs.
So, so gross.

Oh my...I am old as dirt and just got rid of my toilet lid cover and contour rug a year ago. I was changing colors in the bathroom and was trying to find both and my daughter finally said "I don't think people use those anymore" I have a nice plush rug on the floor in the middle of room though, the tile is cold.

My mom is almost 80, and I don't know when she last had a toilet seat cover! Maybe the 70s?
I've been lucky and don't recall this conversation here, but it seems like the TrfuPeas would vote NO.

I think it's almost unanimous here that they're gross germ magnets. Not to mention dated and old ladyish. ETA: Back in the 50s my mom would put the fuzzy lid cover on the underside of the toilet lid because our lid was always left up and she wanted it to show. She had to take it off when my little cousin would come over because he always tried to write his name in the fuzzy cover with pee.

Toilet covers? Absolutely not.
Floor mats...only in front of the bath and shower, so we don't fall.

Last year I helped my friend clear out her aunt's house after she died. Her bathroom had this kind of seat cover. It was the first time I had ever seen one. My undiagnosed OCD self almost crawled into a fetal position at the thought of all the germs festering on there. I want to crawl into a fetal position right now just thinking about it.

We do keep a rug in front of the tub. A non-slip type.
I don't even have an issue with the around the toilet type. You toss them in the wash regularly, like anything else, and they're fine. Now, I totally get avoiding them in a household that you know to be full of males who tend to miss their mark, but otherwise they don't bother me.
I definitely have a preference against the lid covers, though. I think that the really plush ones can make it more likely for the lid to fall back down mid-use, which can be bad for the males in the house, particularly.

*furiously blushing*
I have, in my bathroom, one of the rugs around the edge of the potty. I hate cold tile and keeps my toes toasty while I tinkle. And weirdly, it is a favorite napping spot for the asshole ninja cat.
In my defense, i am the only one who uses that bathroom so unless I am doing some strange contorted pee position in my sleep, aiming issues aren't an issue. So no stray germs.
(I did put it away recently though because I am selling and simplifying. I remember the last 'toilet rug scandal' thread and didn't want concerns about rug germs to lose the sale of my house.)
