The clear ones go really fast. The rest look like cute little donuts right now.

I made a bunch that I took to a crop today, and the ladies loved them! Have fun.

I am using my crafts only toaster oven. Tap tap tap..... Seems like it is taking a long time to get past the donut stage.

Just threw away the first batch.

I made several batches and wasn't overly impressed with the results. I used my regular oven, and didn't really have trouble with odors or anything, just think its really tedious to line up the beads without knocking them over and I think I would rather buy them!

When I made mine (full size convection oven), it took closer to 40 minutes... Maybe even closer to 50 minutes for the darkest colours... Some had glitter in them so I'm not sure if that made them take longer... I love them though - so cheap and in such a huge variety of colours

Yes, they are tedious to line up and stand up. I put a cookie sheet full in the big oven, that went a lot better. Now have a second tray full. I almost caught the roster oven on fire trying to hurry up the process. Oops! Really burnt the parchment paper. Then he started hollering about why the "H" are you doing in there! Had to open the doors and windows with the air on.

Almost done. Now we have a G-baby here. She is lots of help!! Not....Lol!! She is 3 and staying over tonight. She is very fascinated with all the stuff I do. She loves to play in my sewing room when I am sewing. She thinks my embroidery machine is magic because it sews all by itself.

I never had odor issues either. I did see someone use Glossy Accents and make them. They laid wax paper down then make a dot however large with GA then let dry for few hours and went over all of them with nail polish. They really looked good!

I put my craft only toaster oven outside, on 350, for 45 minutes. We're at 7,000ft so that's high altitude cooking. I use a piece of a Tim Holtz non-stick mat that I cut down to fit in the toaster oven. They come out perfect every time.

Use a silpat mat. They stand up WAY WAY WAY easier because the silicon is a tiny bit "sticky" under them. I love mine, wish there were more colours, and wish the "pearly" coloured ones melted evenly but the colour shifts and you end up with dark in the centre. I agree, the striped ones rock

I made two big baking sheets of them last week. Lined the sheet with parchment paper, stood them up (the tedious part), baked 'em in my regular oven for about 30 minutes at 350°. Came out perfectly, no odor, no mess. I'd picked up a good sized package of perlers at HL, an assortment of brights and pastels, but it was the only color assortment they had. I'll be on the lookout for different colors and I'll do it again. Easy and cheap.

Has anyone tried the Perler bead pen thing? I'm wondering if it would help to speed up getting them on the pan standing up quicker. That's the only thing that's a pain, getting all of the beads standing up!

Mine always end up looking like warped donuts. It my be our high elevation, but I've given up. I've had good results with other plastic beads, just not the perler beads.

I'm at 7,000ft, IrishEyes, I don't think it's that. Are your beads new? Some people said the older ones didn't melt well for them. Others have said off-brand didn't work for them, but real Perler beads did.

Those look nice, but *that* would cause fume issue for me, lol! Can't have nail polish anywhere near me. :/ Which is another reason I make my baked dots outside.

Me too (7000 ft) and that's the temp and time I use - works great except on the black and white ones- those always come out more oval ... I just use parchment paper on the cookie sheet before I place my beads - works great.

I do agree the fumes from polish can be a issue even for me. Also I think it's cheaper to use beads and bake. I like to hoard my GA for just gluing stuff because it is strong. It's just another alternative for the ones who are having trouble getting breads to bake right...I remember back at the pod some had issues.

and no smell with the real pearler beads!
