I hate when I have a vision for a page and it won't come together the way I want it to. I started a page this afternoon and it felt like everything went wrong. My cuts were crooked; wasting paper, I changed my mind about letter stickers 3 times, and I had a hard time getting my title cut on my Cricut. It was one thing after another. The page is almost done, finally. I need to do the journaling and I'm waiting on that. What do you do when things just won't flow. Do you power through or give up and try another day?

I stop what I'm doing. The next day it ALWAYS comes together with a fresh eye. I don't know how that works, but it does for me!

I take a break. Sometimes the break is days, sometimes hours. The harder I try to force it, the worse things go (and sometimes the idea is fine but I am a klutz and hurt myself or am not paying attention and I cut something wrong, lose something I needed or something else logistical is going wrong) and ai let the project just sit on the backburner of my mind until I am inspired to try again, an idea comes to me or an idea finds me (often YouTube). Forcing creativity usually kills my mojo, but if I let it come more naturally, I am more inspired for the next project.

Some days just aren't cut out for crafting. When that happens to me, I walk away. Often the next day what seemed impossible works like a charm. Or I wake up with a completely different vision for the page, and I end up liking it a lot better than the original idea.

Like others above, I have to stop & walk away. The more I try the worse it looks. Unfortunately this has happened to me more often lately. I still love scrapbooking but almost every page lately has seemed like an ordeal.

Sometimes I keep going and hope for the best. Other times I set it aside and come back to it later. Other times, I toss it and start again.

Sometimes I try to push through it changing things that I think are not working and occasionally pulling everything up and starting again from a new background paper up. Sometimes I'll walk away and come back to it either later the same day, the next day, or sometimes never. I usually don't end up loving these pages as much as I hoped and I'm sure it's to do with my high expectations from my initial vision.

Another thing that helps if you want to be creative but a project isn't coming together is doing something mundane, organizing product, assembly lining something, fussy cutting papers, gathering supplies for a specific project, etc. Sometimes easy creative ventures help your vision come together on something else because you're not thinking so hard.

Went back into my scrap room this morning and finished the page. Today was a better day. I printed my journaling instead of handwriting it and got ot right first time. Score!!! I have been journaling by hand for a long time and I was surprised to have zero problems with my printer.

Glad your page finally came together for you, sometimes pages work sometimes they don't. I've learned perfection isn't all it's cracked up to be, sometimes you've got to just go with what's there and go on to the next project.

I really don't like when that happens to me. But I am glad that you finished the page and you like it!

yay! for finishing your LO! I tried to work on a page this morning and it was definitely a frustrating mess. I think a lot of the problem was the papers...some amy tangerine I'm not crazy about that came in a kit. I gave up and decided to watch YouTube videos I have a better idea than my original one (going to break out the big shot and circle dies for the ugly paper), so I'll try and tackle it tomorrow.

It almost always comes down to "I chose the wrong paper." I'd rather take the photos and embellishments off the page, waste whatever base paper is there, and start again.

I have trouble when I am trying to make something fit. I've done the same - torn it off and started with a new base paper.

I hate it when that happens! Usually I try to power through it and wind up feeling ok about what I end up with. When I walk away and come back to it later I wind up much happier with the finished product though.

Sometimes I set it aside. Most times, once I'm in the groove, I just push through.
