In a bathroom with no windows to paint the bottom of my walls white and the top halfish a light gray or light blue green. I am mainly wondering about the white paint bottom. I don't have wainscoting or tile in there and that is usually what I see in pictures that have white on the bottom of a wall. I just want the white on the bottom to be paint. I have a chair rail that I will paint white or black to use as an accent color. Is it odd to use white paint on the bottom of a wall when it isn't tile or wainscoting?

It sounds fresh and bright. I like the idea.

Here is my personal philosophy on decorating: Do you like it? Then it is okay. I think we kind of get on this kick that everything has to follow rules (i.e. you can only paint the bottom if it is wainscoting) and if something falls outside of that "rule" it shouldn't be done. But it is your house, your nest, your space...and it should reflect your tastes and loves. If you do that, then there is an inherent flow with all you choose because it is all something that you love and feel a connection to. So if you want to paint your walls, go for it. It is just paint and not permanent. If you hate it? It is an easy fix.

I think it sounds great. You have my approval and my permission to start painting immediately.
