After mass production of Christmas cards yesterday the acrylic cover of my Stampoholic and my friends MISTI are streaked with Black Versafine ink. I haven't had problems with dye or hybrid inks not cleaning off. I tried SU! and Ranger stamp cleaner (which usually works for other inks) but only streaked and it looks horrible. A baby wipe didn't work either. I use GoJo hand cleaner to get ink off my fingers, but I'm not sure I can use that on the acrylic without scratching. And I think alcohol based cleaners are a no-no.
I know it's only cosmetic and it won't effect the tool, but it looks horrible.
Any tips?

Maybe try Windex or whatever you'd use to clean your counters.
I clean my stamps and the cover of my Stampaholic with Simple Green spray.

I wonder if a magic eraser would work. I would try it in a corner first, or on an acrylic block if you have one you don't mind getting scratched a little.

Did you try the Novus cleaner that she sells with the MISTI? It's supposed to work and it's approved by the maker.

Thanks everyone! caspad - I was hesitant to use Windex because I've always been told not to use window cleaner or ammonia on acrylic and plexiglass. I'll look into SG. gale w - I will try Magic Eraser on a block first. I have a few of those that need a good cleaning too. kirspend - I don't have a MISTI, but if the Magic Eraser doesn't pan out I will check this out. |

The Novus cleaner was only $5.79 at Amazon so I bought a bottle. It should be here tomorrow (Saturday). I'll report back if it works on Versafine or not.
