My mom is always at a loss for birthday gifts for me. I am thinking about asking for a subscription to a stamp/die club.
What has been your experience?
My top choices are: Stamps of Life Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society Spellbinders Die hard
What have been the positive and negatives for you? TIA!

I haven't given a subscription, but I've purchased a specific month kit (from SSS) for a friend and had it shipped to her house.
The only thing that would make me hesitant for a kit sub is that it would be a waste if you didn't like it and weren't able to skip. The SSS kit you can skip. The Hero Arts and My Favorite Things are monthly kits without a sub.
How about asking for a gift card to your favorite store?

I never got into any "club subscriptions" because I don't need other people to tell me what to do. What if you don't like what they send? I like the quality of SU stamps, but I have not seen a set where I like more than 1 or 2 of the stamp in a set.

My top choices are: Stamps of Life Technique Tuesday Greenhouse Society Spellbinders Die hard What have been the positive and negatives for you? TIA! I have had a number of stamp subscriptions over the years, most recently Simon Says Stamp. I sometimes get the MFT or HA monthly kits but they aren't subscriptions. The pros: a variety of products are generally included in the kit subscriptions so besides the stamps, you may get dies, inks, card stock, embellishments, etc.; inspiration sheets are provided to help you get the most out of the kit; everything coordinates making it easy to grab a kit and craft on the go; The kits are usually a good value; it's always fun to get crafty mail. The cons: if you are a seasoned card maker, you may find yourself getting items in the kit that you already have (example: inks); some subscriptions don't have a "skip" option and you may get stuck with a kit that is just not you. Hope this helps. Good luck making a decision.

I'm not familiar with these clubs but I did subscribe to Simon Says Stamps a few years ago. Have you considered Paper Pumpkin? I enjoy this kit and I provide alternative ideas to all of my subscribers. The best part of being a subscriber to a monthly kit is when it arrives. I love getting something in the mail crafting wise that isn't a bill. Hahaha!!

I was a member of Stamps of Life stamp & die club for many years. I then added their card kit and have enjoyed it for the last year or so. I did drop the stamps/die club since those are not exclusives and I can purchase them when I want. I'm getting ready to drop the monthly card kit, not because I don't like it, but because I need to stop getting stuff I have liked almost every MFT kit I've seen, but have only purchased the snowflake one. I love it and can't wait to use it to make a few different cards next week at my crop. I think this is a very nice gift as you aren't spending the money and when it comes to gifts it's hard to make sure people like 100% of everything we give them

Thanks for your insight! I am not really interested in a card kit club . . . I'm on the DT for Imagine (Tsukineko) and have all the inks and mixed media stuff I need to create and then some! I love their products and have purged other brands. So I am still trying to figure out which club to go with!

I have been a member of tons of clubs. My opinion:
SSS (Simon Says Stamp): Love this one, because you can skip and it is more my style Stamps of Life: LOVE Stephanie....met her once. Her kits are just not my style. I tried them for months. I still love her even though I unsubbed. MFT: LOVE her kits and that there are so many videos using her kit. Hero Arts: Love it because it is a one time purchase so if you don't like it ...you don't buy it. They seem to have great value in those kits!!

Based on the September and October, I really wanted the November Hero Arts kit but I just didn't need it I didn't find out about them until the middle of October so I was stalking the site on the day they released the November kit. Oh well, maybe December I love the one MFT kit I bought! I also think Stephanie is a sweetie and I enjoyed taking her classes at the CK conventions.

Have you looked at Unity Stamp Company? I don't know if you have to order every month; but they have specials and tutorials. I love them!
