In the "Hilary's Speech" thread, someone noted that lots of people there were wearing purple and @nicksmom said: "Purple is a mixture of red and blue. I think the color was meant to symbolize unity."
What a lovely thought and gesture!
We were all so looking forward to the "election being over" but today based on the posts it's just more and more of the same. One candidate had to win. I know some are extremely upset, but have had well OVER A YEAR of this nonstop.
My wish is that we could all try to work on being purple today and going forward.

I wore a purple shirt today because it was clean, not because of anything I heard. I wonder if people at work noticed it and what they thought.
edited to add: I hadn't even heard about wearing purple until I read this thread. I purposely do not watch the news on election day and wait to tune in until the final tally.

I will wear purple tomorrow. I'm too tired to get changed, and I have nothing else to do outside of the house tonight.  I like the idea of wearing purple to represent the unity of the 2 parties. I hope that happens. |

I saw her speech and do remember that she wore a purple blouse. I did not realize there was a significance to it.

I kinda wore purple yesterday. My kids' school colors are purple and white and last night was the end of the season banquet so I wore a band shirt that had purple on it. DH wore a purple dress shirt as well (for band, not the election).

I like the idea of wearing purple to represent the unity of the 2 parties. I hope that happens.
