I am following Hillary Clintons lead and made my avatar purple today to symbolize that we are Americans first and it's not about red states and blue states.

I have unfollowed several friends and family members this morning. I can't take what they are spewing, and I don't want to see it in my newsfeed. It will cause more drama to unfriend, so I'm hiding those people for a good long while. They can say what they feel they need to say, and I can stick to shit that will hopefully bring my happy back, like photography and random GIFs of puppies doing silly things. Facebook is my happy place, not my political place. That's what I do here. For what it's worth I have not hidden/ignored any Peas for their political beliefs.

I unfriended for the first time ever today. I totally believe in opposing views. I can learn from listening to others. When it turns into name calling, bullying, and gross generalizations, I am chosing not to read hate filled messages. i can totally understand that some are unhappy today as others were in 2012, but I don't need to keep reading the f word and other insults from people who preach anti bullying, love, etc.

Happy momma, help me out...I am talking about me personally since I don't post political anything on Facebook or call names...or are you just talking one party vs. the other? (And just to clarify, the people I referred to as preaching anti bullying are of course people from my own life, again not talking party affiliation. We will continue to be friends and family in real life and discuss things and share life experiences, but I haven't been with someone in real life who calls me names to my face. Maybe generalizations come out more on social media.)

I've unfriended people already, but the only nastiness I've seen today has come from Trump supporters, gloating and saying how us "libtards" will now have to work.

Sweet sentiment, wish I could say the same. I unfollowed my cousin after she posted a pro-trump pic. Her Dh is a famous (think Pete Dye) golf course architect so he probably has kissed DJT's ass on the odd occasion.

I blocked a lot of peas today, essentially doubling how many I had blocked already. After my shit year, my give a fuck is broken and after seeing their true colours of hatred, I am no longer interested in what they have to say. I come here for entertainment, not to watch peas utilize their newfound allowance to show hatred.

I have not blocked or unfriended anyone either...keeps me humble. And sadly, some of my more liberal friends have been just as bad as those on the right. But we are in it together. I hope we can learn to behave that way.

You need to develop a thicker skin - I've blocked just one and I couldn't stand the bitch before the election! Mostly, I don't like to block because I think it's important to see what others are thinking, even if I don't agree with their views or their way of expressing those views.

Sometimes you have to look after yourself, so to speak. I unfollowed someone last night on FB---I was feeling pretty tender and sad, and when she actually typed out "bwahahahahahahaha!!!" on her post I had had enough. I'm sure I'll follow her back at some point in the future.

It's not a questions of my special snowflake feelings getting hurt by anything said here. It's more that I don't give a fuck about what these people have to say. They bring zero joy to my experience here, so off with their head. i used to think like you and never blocked anyone. I too was interested in what people had to say even if I disagreed with them. These people have gone beyond that, showing true colours and vile natures. Right now, I am not interested in a word they have to say. As I said, my give a fuck broke earlier this year, so if someone doesn't bring joy or intrigue... Gone.

I haven't unfriended or blocked anyone during this whole election. But 2 dear friends have posted such ugly things this morning, that I'm close to blocking them. They are Trump supporters and just going off on how God is on their side and how awful anyone who did not support Trump is and on and on and on. In my feed, the nasty stuff today is from the Trump fans and it is aimed at everyone who didn't vote for him. He won, their side won. Don't be a poor loser! On the flip side the Clinton supporters in my feed are posting messages of moving forward, being sad but wanting to come together for the betterment of the country.
It has been such an ugly election, and sadly, that isn't over.
