I think they are probably glad!!
I honestly don't think Melania is very smart. She's definitely not a college educated first lady that we are used too. She also seems a bit clueless. Her platrorm will be online bullying? when her dh is the most famous person for doing it? like WTH? I'm hoping maybe Ivanka can fill in for her?!

Andrew Jackson's wife was born in England. What a good example, he was President in 1829...so I'm taking it that you're claiming you remember what she was like from first hand knowledge, and that's how you're able to compare it to the current situation? I never said she was the "only" foreign born first lady, simply that she *is* foreign born and that in the last 50 years or so no-one here has experience of that in a first lady...except you, you were seemingly around in 1829 and will be able to enlighten us with what that was like.

Holy hell - who the hell cares. lol - clearly you do if you get so upset about being proven wrong. You're the one started the conversation with me and chose to quote me and tell me I'm wrong and that you've had "lots of divorced and unmarried presidents" I'm backing up my original comments. But I'll try your way of discussing a point next time and I'll quote you and put "holy hell who cares?" after your posts and then you can get all butt hurt and hair flip out of here just like your friends because the anti Trump people are being "so mean" Prove me wrong - okay sweetie. Just because you apparently can only look at 50 years and call it "our history". I'm not butt hurt I honestly think you're demented - it was a nice fluffy thread before your negative ass showed up. And don't worry it's not a hair flip - I'm not coming back to this thread tonight as I'm heading out - but you spend your Saturday night analyzing another countries First Ladies.

No, don't blame me because you failed comprehension 101...I said that it will look different to what you are used to. 50 years for most people here is "living memory" i.e. the things that you actually experienced *in your own life time*. For most people who post here that's roughly around 50 years...we don't have too many 100-200 year olds who post here. but you spend your Saturday night analyzing another countries First Ladies It's Sunday afternoon here "sweetie" - or didn't you know that the world is round and there are different time zones?

I guess those from another country don't go back far enough with our history...most of us here do.
I think Melania will be a good FL. I think she's fine at giving a speech - she's done a few that I've heard. I don't see a problem in that area. I hate to break it to some who want to think she isn't that bright, she is. I think the hardest part for her will be protecting Baron from outsiders. I did think the poor kid looked like he was going to fall asleep standing up on election night (next morning really).
that was a great pic posted of them (up thread). DT even looks good looking in it - and Melania - not 'posing' looks great.
I wouldn't want to be FL - it'd be like living in a fish bowl. I like my quiet and alone time too much.
I have no problems with her being foreign born, having an accent, staying in the background, not giving tons of speeches etc. It's her choice. What ever works for her and her family.

I think Barron will be just fine. The President's children are always off limits, and everyone else's kids, demo, and republican did ok now, didn't they?

I just read something interesting. Did you all know that Bill and Hillary Clinton were among the only 350 guests invited to Donald and Melania's wedding?? Apparently they all got along fine at one point.

Didn't you see that video from 2008 (I think) where Trump is praising the Clintons talking about how great they both are and how much he likes them?
I'll see if I can find it...
