I posted this: ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a213/Sharlag/decaf_zps8114c7f4.jpg) and then my friend posted this: ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a213/Sharlag/language_zps902218ad.jpg) I tried to find a retaliatory scripture supporting profanity, to no avail. I'm not upset. I just thought this would be appreciated here.

If that's anything other than a coincidence, then that's an eye-rolling offence towards you. Nothing like a passive aggressive bible quote to make them look like an ass. Provided that it wasn't a coincidence (which I am sure they will insist it is).

Oh good grief. If you find scripture that backs a good "f" word use, please let us know!

You don't need a retaliatory scripture quote, just a pithy quote about funsuckers.

While there is a great possibility that was no coincidence, a friend had the same exact post a couple hours ago from KLove. I actually found myself thinking back to what statuses I may have posted today to trigger it myself! LOL Off to make some caffeinated coffee!

Play the private message card and post "OMG, I can't keep up with all of the private messages from friends wondering where you can get that fabulous Decaf is for Fuckers cup warmer. Don't worry - I'll get to all of you. And I'm SO glad that almost all of my friends have a great sense of humor."

It is the verse of the day so it is possible it's a coincidence.

May I ask how you two are friends? Like, are you relatives, used to work together, neighbors, etc? Does having a Facebook relationship hold an important role in your friendship?
I ask because, I, too, find such language offensive. And while I do not dictate what others do, if I knew you used that kind of language, then I just wouldn't be Facebook friends with you. (I am using the general you here). So, I am wondering if she is offended and can't be brave enough to tell you (not that you would remove the post anyway), why doesn't she just unfriend you?
I often wonder if people just have Facebook friends as a number game.

I was also wondering if it was one of those daily quote or verse type things and her sharing was a coincidence. If it was a coincidence, it was kind of funny in a crazy sort of timing way.

I'm just offended by your slur against decaf. While I do enjoy the initial zap of caffeine in the morning, decaf does have its uses for those of us who enjoy a cup in the evening but don't want to be up decluttering at 3am.
People who spinelessly leave passive-aggressive comments on Facebook rather than express their feelings face to face are sanctimonious losers.

I often wonder if people just have Facebook friends as a number game. She's sort of my Christian touchstone. I haven't been attending church or making my faith a priority in a while, but she always has. I know that if I ever had faith concerns/questions or needed support, she'd be there for me. We met when we were both struggling with TTC. I'll always consider her a true friend. Sometimes her posts Facebook posts strike me as chiding, and I imagine my occasional profanity irks her. I don't think it will come between us. As I said, I'm not upset. And since I posted this on my sister's wall, I'm not sure if she (Christian friend) even saw it. Especially since several of you noted that it's a Klove quote of the day.

I tried to find a retaliatory scripture supporting profanity, to no avail. Really? Did you check Motherfucking Leviticus?

I often wonder if people just have Facebook friends as a number game. You would not be friends with someone because of an occasional use of strong language? Really? This is why I specified "Facebook friends". I don't care to see it on my wall. It's just my personal opinion that such language is useless and unbecoming. It's ok if others disagree. But, believe it or not, IF I have friends who use that language, then they know I am not fond of it and respect me enough not to use it while in my company. Now, I do have friends who have said a word here or there but I don't reprimand them! They are all adults. Well, numerically, anyway! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Well, I think it's a good word, and very helpful.
I love Jesus. I just don't think that verse is talking about words like shit, damn, and fuck.

I agree with Julee. I don't think that verse is about naughty words. I think that verse is about using words to build others up rather than tearing others down. I think it was just a coincidence that your friend posted that Bible verse after your post. However, before you go out and buy one of those cup warmers for your friend to carry to her Bible study class, you might ask her first if she finds it offensive.

Now don't go trashing decaf. It's not my first choice, but if it's after noon, I can only have decaf. It somewhat satisfies my need for coffee when it's later in the day.

REALLY?? DO be sure to post it when you 'find' it.
Even if you don't find a verse specific to what we now use, that doesn't mean it is something the Lord approves of.
I agree with the pea who said it is useless and unbecoming. It's foul and disgusting. Gutter mouths. There is a scripture that talks about what comes out of your mouth comes from your heart. That's not a pleasant idea.
