This seems to be becoming popular in my area.
I give you the "dress in an evening gown and stand on top of a horse" photo. (at least she was nice enough to take off her heels first)

Pretty sure that's just photoshopped.
If you enlarge, there's a pretty clear line around the girl versus her surroundings and the feet are just "off" where they supposedly meet the horse's back.

Some photographers are attempting to be very artsy, aren't they? I'm not sure I get the meaning or message being conveyed ... or is there one?

What's that saying? Just because you can, does not mean you should.

That horse is giving some serious side-eye, and with good reason.

Not sure if the fact that it is faked makes it better or worse! Better in the fact that the horse wasn't hurt, but worse that someone took the time to photoshop (poorly) that inane image.

Real or photoshopped, it's a really stupid picture, IMO.

Not sure if it's photoshopped or not, but this particular photo was posted by a "pro" on Facebook and lots of people commented and wanted to know if they could "hire" this horse for their own shoots with her. The "pro" is one of those stay-at-home-Moms whose DH bought her an expensive camera so now she thinks she is a "pro" and can justify her SAHM-ness by making a few bucks doing photoshoots. She charged $1000 for this particular shoot. I think that is the real travesty here.

I don't think it's photoshopped. If it was, then it would be more obvious around their body and I don't think the photo is of quality that they'd be able to do those shadows appropriately. I don't mind the photo. I'd assume the girl was into trick riding or something. There's a lot of horse ppl in the rural areas.

That never occurred to me. I don't see many trick riders around here -- all the horsey people I know jump their horses over fences while wearing velvet hats. (can you tell I'm not very horsey?)

I know this girl. She is not a trick rider. She doesn't even own a horse.

Whether this is real or not, I can see it becoming a trend. I grew up around horse owners and competitors, if it had been a trend when we were teens they would have done it. But they've got gauzy professional cheek to jaw poses with their horses, the trend at the time along with standard riding poses.

Ok, to me that is a bit better than the damn sun flares in peoples faces phase. Good gosh, yea awesome you got a sun glare. On her face. You rock. Not.

The formal dress with a horse thing is pretty common here too. We're a rural area and it is senior girls with their own horses. I don't particularly care for the 95% of the shots because they don't make sense to me. Why are you riding in an ugly prom dress? Meh. Having photos done with someone else's horse I have not heard of yet.
Edited to clarify, sometimes these girls will stand on their horses if they have the skill to do so. Sometimes they don't. The standing isn't really a trend in and of itself.

I've never seen this pose and I live in semi-horse country. The photographers I know do use horses with senior photos.

a little strange, imho. If she's not into horses, why would she want this picture.
Changing the subject - Is this the REAL Yubon? I thought you weren't coming over here. Glad to see you!!!!!

Photography is just getting weirder and weirder.
and i hate 'haze' and ''sun flare'
in two years they'll be as dated as selective coloring

I am off the hook if my train track pictures aren't professional and are just because there are train tracks behind my house. Unused ones that no train is ever on, but that's beside the point. Those sneaky things sometimes end up in photos without me planning on it. The horse thing reminds me of some woodland nymph art.

Regarding your title...my hairdresser has a giant framed photograph of a ballerina on train tracks, hanging in her salon. I have to stare at it the whole time. Makes me nervous.
I think we can be thankful that we're not seeing as many sofa-in-the-woods photographs as we were a few years ago.

I took pictures of my ballerina on train tracks last month. She wanted them, and I'm too cheap to pay someone for photos. If we had a horse, she would undoubtedly stand on it.
I'm not even kidding.
Also I love what's her name and her "are you fucking kidding me?" face!

I guess I don't belong to the right photography groups. I have yet to see this.
Was in a town earlier this week with old train tracks all over the place. Ate at a restaurant that landscaped the tracks running along their outdoor patio and was wishing I had my camera to take some corny photos of dh on the train tracks! LOL.
The couch and chair thing in a field is far from over. I feel as if it has only gotten started in my area.
