Boards have different personalities and just like people they evolve over time. Boards change just like people do. If the board changes enough that you aren't enjoying yourself then you should leave. I've been a member of several boards over the years and some I don't read or post on any more. One board went from moderate to holy roller and I bailed. It happens.
The really entertaining aspect to the whole peas are butt hurt and leaving over things said on a message board is that these, for the most part, are grown women. The conservatives won the damned election and they are whining and hurt over what an anonymous person on the Internet says. I just have to chuckle. It's like grade school stuff.

It's sad, and it's honestly pretty pathetic. You're losing members because they are tired of adult women acting like a bunch of 3rd grade bullies or whiny children who didn't get their way and they want to make sure EVERYBODY knows it. And we wonder why we have a generation of bratty, self-entitled, bully children.well, AMEN to that! that runs thru my thinking on a regular basis here. and they're so much like what they claim they don't like in Trump! - lol! even down to the foul words. It's terrible that he did it, but ok for them to do it. that's normal for the left.

The boards are pretty slow as it is, it really is a shame to lose any regular contributors. Slowing can quickly become a death spiral for a message board. I don't think your drama-llamaing is working. Save

It's also sad the shit some of them have said to us while some of y'all are turning the other cheek. Losing great peas or weeding out bad apples who, while they may not be the name callers, most definitely are not taking a stand against them. I'm not the least bit sad it means I no longer ashamed to be a difference race. And lord knows some of the peas want me to feel that way. nor should you be. There are different races in this world - we're all people no matter what color we are, or what country of origin.

How will new people show up? What will draw them here? Has the board had any new members who weren't previously at the old board? If so I didn't know that. I know rmorgan joined recently and found us b/c of a google search or something. She's the grocery belt pea. Great product. Save

I'm sorry. I have absolutely no sympathy for Peas that choose to walk away over political threads. I'm very disappointed in the outcome of the presidential election and knew that threads involving it would upset me. So I've stayed away or have simply avoided those threads. I'm sticking to the butternut squash soup and smelly pee threads. Simple. Eventually, I will make it back to political threads. If you get your parties in a twist over strangers--STRANGERS--on the internet saying mean things--then you probably should walk away. But....really? There is a smelly pee thread? 😂 Yes, there really is! Save

It is sad that we are losing peas. However, I don't expect any of it to stop in the near future. Here is the thing-if the other side understood why people voted for Trump, maybe really tried to understand, then the DNC could've made an appeal for those people who were so disenfranchised. But, instead, they buried their head in the sand at all that wanted Bernie so badly. They didn't win over everyone they thought they would. So, in their arrogance, they lost the election. Now, in hindsight, there is still a glaring lack of understanding. A lot of armchair quarterbacking telling us why we voted the way we did. Well, if that was so easily dissected, why wasn't it stopped?
Fine by me. The #nevertrump and BLM people can crow all day long for the next couple years. That will cement the midterm elections too. very good point! I think they thought they had won it (in advance). They attacked Trump at every turn - even for breathing... that's what they do. they didn't because they really aren't concerned for the little people (other than keeping them tied to them financially). They catered to the rich and powerful (as usual). That's why HC called in the singers/stars. how sad that 1 was even JZ using foul language in his songs. (where was the outrage for that by the left?)
well, mid - lower ($ wise) Americans have had it and turned out to change things. 8 yrs of DBO was 8 yrs too many. Time to put the brakes on our country going over the cliff.
those on the left's attitude is 'how dare you?' well, dare we did, so live with it.

And we wonder why we have a generation of bratty, self-entitled, bully children. Every single member has the ability to scroll right on by what they don't like. I do that with USA political stuff, when requests for a political board were ignored. They engage, they deserve to get agitated. Ignoring is best, scroll works great. No one is to blame but themselves.

Gotta admit-- I'm surprised. I've been called names on this board (not about politics even!) and I'm still here. Sure, one of our beloved calling me a petulant asshole because she wanted to believe what she wanted to believe did make me think WTH. But, I come back to this quote, "Your opinion of me is none of my business." If you need to leave because people have different opinions than you, then really I'm not sure the internet is for you. I too would step away if I found it that stressful. My post count isn't exactly high. I've been a pea since 2000 and I think I had 600 posts on the old board. But I've seen this crap happen time and time again. Somehow it is our fault that someone chooses not to stay. Well, I refuse to believe that. As **KAS** said It's sad, and it's honestly pretty pathetic. You're losing members because they are tired of adult women acting like a bunch of 3rd grade bullies or whiny children who didn't get their way and they want to make sure EVERYBODY knows it. And we wonder why we have a generation of bratty, self-entitled, bully children I just think we might have a different opinion on who the brat is. The one who publicly hair flips? The one who stays? The one who just disappears? Now, the creepy factor of someone tracking you down and going after your job, friends, relationships - that shit's bullying. Disagreeing on a political thread??? Not so much.

I have shared several times why some have voted for Trump. If they don't heed it, fine. Lose another election, because what you were doing didn't work. It still won't. Clubbing someone over the head with your point of view doesn't bring in more votes.

in the past many from the left were posting to have a separate board for political posts... now they're in here posting tons of political threads.

I've seen at least 2 other very popular peas share on Facebook that they've left. Is there any way of see who has deactivated their profiles? If I go to their profile page, they are gone. Ah?? WHO are these very popular peas that left? Because some of us apparently don't know who these popular Ps were? I could care less if we get new members. We don't really have to grow. Why can't we be content with the same old core group from the old 2Ps? Not a big deal to me.

No one is to blame but themselves. Oh, I agree that you should ignore what doesn't suit you. I do it all the time. Most of the time I'm only reading threads about instant pots and diets. That doesn't change anything I said above though. Just because you (general you) don't engage with them, doesn't make their behavior any less immature. There's always been a lot of keyboard courage here, the same thing internet bullies are accused of all the time. Yet somehow here it's acceptable to act that way. I just wonder if some of the people would be ok if their kid was reading their words over their shoulder here.

There are different races in this world - we're all people no matter what color we are, or what country of origin. And should be treated equally. I taught in an area where the minority felt like they were treated differently. It opened my eyes to seeing how others felt even when it was really uncomfortable for me. Outward racism became less over the years, but it was still there. One of my favorite coworkers, an African American woman, committed suicide on MLK's birthday. It is out there and people feel it. I respect it.

What? Your post makes absolutely zero sense to me and I don't know why you quoted me...

People come and go. The board will carry on with the oldies, newbies and returnees. I am not worried about the board. Enough good, funny, smart, friendly and interesting people will remain along as some bold, blunt, brash, and still interesting people.
