I am looking into becoming a Registered Dietitian, but not really sure where to start.
There are 2 colleges in my state that offer the program that allows you to sit for the RD exam; however, neither offer a lot of online information and both are 3 hours away from me (in opposite directions).
A couple questions:
Do you like what you do? Would you do it again?
My ultimate goal is to become a Certified Diabetes Educator and one of the 4 ways to get there is to be an RD. The other 3 paths don't interest me. I was told by some current RDs that the job outlook in clinics and doctors' offices is good because people are needing nutrition help more and more. Do you think this is true? I am figuring if for some reason I can't become a CDE (jobs are limited in that area, I know), I at least have a degree I can fall back on and make pretty good money in my area from the searches I've done.
Any thoughts are welcome! Thanks in advance.
