along now too.
Most of my decluttering is coming from the former scrapbook room. I had a LOT of stuff. I seriously could have stocked a small scrapbook store. No really. I was a pro scrapbooker so I had more crap than normal I think. I've been selling stuff on my local swap group and making some extra $$ that I put a big pile towards paying off my house (which I did this week) and now I'm saving up to buy siding for it. It's just a good incentive to make things move.
It's keeping me super motivated!
It's bled into some of the rest of the house. I got rid of some things that had been in my living room in the corner for a couple years. You just walk around them and don't pay attention anymore ya know?
We had a huge pile of lumber that was given to us for a project. Thing was, it turns out a bunch of it was solid oak. It'd been outside for 3 years in a nicely stacked pile with a ton of weeds growing around it. It's time to reside the chicken coop and I said it had to go (we couldn't get to one side because of it.
I paid my kid some $$ to rip out all the weeds (some 9' tall btw yuck) and the put on the swap shop that the first to get there to get it, it was theirs! Turns out that the guy that showed up literally 30 minutes later, is a wood shop teacher at my old school! I would have given it to him anyway. Glad he was the first to respond. The yard looks so much better now.
Anyway, after that happened my husband started looking around and cleaned up some stuff to go to the dumpster (we have a dumpster on our property which is AWESOME). He also decided to get rid of a rolling ladder we've had for 6 stupid years now!!
Just thought I'd share if someone wanted a little inspiration!
After I get through most of the house, I'm going to tackle that stupid storage unit I never use and pay rent on every month. :/

I'm starting on my scrapbook room as well. Most of it I'm just going to donate, but am going to try and sell some stamps and stuff.

Decluttering is contagious. Especially when you start to see money coming in from it! Nice job!

I'm working on my own decluttering project here. I'm planning to have a huge garage sale the beginning of September. I have been filling up my classroom from things all over the house all summer. A few things that I know are worth more than I would get for a garage sale I have been posting on eBay. So far I've only made about $60 but every little bit helps. I'm hoping to make enough to finish off paying for my husband's and my trip to Disneyland in October. I only need like $600.

My scrapbook closet is up for a major clean out as soon as school starts - I need my kids to go away so I can work on it! I've been doing lots of work on the rest of the house, though, and it's great. We downsized to be closer to DH's office and it's really nice to have less stuff. The only thing I miss is we used to have four garage spots and since we have a business we run from home that requires a fair bit of storage, I can't seem to downsize the stuff in the garage enough to get my car in. Definitely more work needed out there!

I'm in the process of moving and I'm selling off stuff at the same time. I've got tons of scrapbooking stuff I'm trying to get rid of and some furniture too. It's feels good to simplify and have less stuff. Clothes are next.

I'm in a bit of a process as well. I've had to pack up everything in the dining room living room in order to get new flooring. As I was packing most of it away, I kept saying "I don't need all this stuff" but a lot came from my mom and it has sentimental value more than anything....I've managed to toss a few things though...baby steps, right?

I just gave away two bookcases and that has jump started some decluttering. It's addictive once the ball gets rolling.

I'm still working on my office, I underestimated how long it would take. Mostly because of all the old paperwork to go through. I've also been selling stuff on ebay, so between decluttering, I've been listing/donating/getting stuff ready for our yardsale. I have 2 weeks left to finish.

Yes, big congratulations on paying off your house!
We're finally buying a house (it's been 2 years since we sold our last one) so I need to declutter this rental and begin to pack what I can.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I just started cleaning out junk at my BF house. I threw out a 55 gal trash can full yesterday out of his laundry room. Going back tomorrow on my day off to work on it some more.
