I have been thinking about starting a PL album for my DS's first year of high school. I don't do any type of PL album at all right now, but have thought off and on about starting one and just have never done it. He has a school album that has a couple of layouts for each year. Since starting high school is such a time of big changes I thought he might like having a more in-depth look at his first year. One reason I have never taken the plunge into PL is I am not good at regularly taking photos of everyday things, but I have started using my phone more for pictures lately. I also don't know if I will run out of things to add in. I may do a monthly format rather than weekly if I do this.
Anyone have any suggestions, tips, or encouragement for me. Have any of you done a school PL album?

Do you already do school albums for your DS? If yes, then just continue on, but maybe include a few more little things thoughout the year vs. only highlighting big stuff like sports, etc.
Remember PL is really just a brand of products. How you chose to use them is entirely up to you.

I am working on 12x12 pocket style albums for my two daughters. One of them just completed her Freshman year, so I will be starting that album very soon. Photos are ordered! The layouts I am doing are: 1st Day of School/Random school related Volleyball Homecoming Fall Weekend Trip Fall (Apple picking, Halloween, Thanksgiving) Basketball Christmas Specials events (attended pro hockey and basketball games) Family & Friends (misc through the year) Winter/ Spring (Valentine's Day, Easter) Summer Summer trips I also place inserts of professional photos in between layouts where they fall in chronological order. her Freshman pic will begin the album. My kids' albums aren't just school related obviously, but its a good summary of their lives. Best wishes on your project!

I have started his album and it's working out well so far. I just need to keep up with it and make sure I'm getting pictures of things. I enjoyed doing the layout for August. This album will be much more in-depth than my usual school pages. I would usually only do 1 maybe 2 double page layouts for the whole year. This album will have more day to day stuff.

Stacy Julian did something for her son's senior year, but you could adapt this for a freshman year. link
