It's so much faster than my fumble fingers can type.

I love it too! My problem is that my Texas accent must not be very recognizable, so it sometimes types the wrong thing. Prime example - my daughter and I were texting about what she should tell the person who was styling her hair for prom. I was trying to tell her to just let her know that she wants a lot of 'curls'. The text said to 'tell her you love girls and want a lot of them'. My daughter got a kick out of that. I learned to check the text before I hit send Anita

Yeah, you probably enunciate very well. Fixing the corrections is more troublesome than just writing the whole thing.

I feel soooooo behind the times. I still have a dumb phone, and type texting is my only option. I didn't even know that smartphones could voice text.

I should set it up because I only think of using it when I'm covered in kitchen mess and need to send an urgent text -- like, "bring paper towels, quickly!".

Voice texting was almost the cause of my husband's heart attack and the source of my avatar signature on Two Peas.
"I can see me, but I can't see you" (referring to some problems we were having with a GPS program)
became
"I conceived, but I can't see you."

I do. I often get quite amusing responses instead of what I actually said. Keeps people on their toes! LOL!

I use it and love it as well. I think it drains the battery fast, though. My moment came when "talking" to a male friend about a hobby we share. We both collect Disney pins. Disney sells an ice cream sundae in CA called "Pin Trader Delight". It comes with a pin. Once I asked him if he was going to get a pin Trader Delight and it texted "penetrator delight". I was so embarrassed!!!

Love it! It is usually spot-on for me, but when it isn't it sure is funny.

If you're using your iPad or iPhone you can use the same feature to post a message here. In fact I just used it on this post.

It's about bloody time you explained that - I thought it was because you needed new glasses when you met up with AN or something for SO long!

I used it when I first got my phone but I found it was wrong more often than it was right. Some of the texts came through pretty funny.

Last week I took my 14 y.o. DS to the dermatologist to have a few moles looked at and possibly removed. We were waiting for the Dr. and he was sitting on the exam table being goofy so I took a picture of him. I sent it to DH with the caption "at the Dr. waiting to get his moles chopped off." Apparently my phone misunderstood me because instead it wrote ". . . get his balls chopped off." I sent it before I read it. It was too funny!

I had Siri set up to be an English gentleman but had to change to American. The Englishman could not understand most of what I said. The American guy is spot on.

I only have an older iPad 2 and I can't see how to use the talk to text on here. Am I out of luck? To answer the question - I LOVE talk to text, but I always always have to check it before sending!

I tend to use Siri only to text my husband. He's a huge Mac Boy and keeps telling me how wonderful she is. I gave up on correcting her. Now, whatever she thinks I said is what he gets. We laugh about it quite a lot.

I use it but have to correct it too much sometimes. Darn Siri doesn't care for my Alabama twang I reckon. It is pretty helpful just to do some voice memos while I'm driving. I can at least get the gist of what I was trying to remember.

I sort of love voice to text but I do have to check it. The one text I didn't check had some obscenity to it. Apparently when I say "volcano" it sounds like an F-bomb. So far I'm avoiding all public discussions of volcanoes just in case.
eta: I wish there was a way to edit the dictionary so certain words weren't a possibility.

I'm too cranky to use it. I find when DS or DH use it that they talk quite slow for it to keep up. Also, don't you have to then verbally add punction? I want some tea (period). That gets annoying to this old lady.
