Ugh. I just found out that my favorite Day Timer Refills (that I've been using since 1996) have been discontinued. I have to find a new paper planner. Never got down with the planner craze and now I have to.
Do you have an Erin Condren planner? Thoughts?
Any other planner ideas ( not Studio Calico)? Do you know any that are refillable ie loose leaf?

I get inserts either made for me EC vertical and use them in an A5 planner OR I get Cocoa Daisy and they have horizontal week on 2 page layouts. It depends what your needs are.
What about that other company? Inkwell Press? They make good planners. Lily Pulitzer makes cute ones, too. I just can't own every one of them.

I moved from a Day Timer to an EC several years ago. It worked for a couple of years, and now I have a Plum Planner. But I am getting tired of the bigger size of EC and PP. So, I may be doing something different for 2017. I am an empty nester now so the appointments have slowed down, and I don't need something so large.

I've used an EC Planner. They are very heavy to lug around. But I like them for their simplicity. Some of the Staples office stores carry them for much cheaper, they just aren't personalized.

Yeah the EC size might be a deal breaker. I don't carry a planner with me (I keep it open daily on my counter so its the first thing I look both before I leave and when I get home for the day). Even knowing that I don't want anything too obtrusive. I'm just so used to my Day Timer!!

Frankln Covey matches daytimer in ring size / spacing. If you really like what you were using maybe they have a comparable.

I ordered and just received the new (although it's similar to the old discontinued notebook) monthly planner from EC. The monthly is only a month spread and then note pages. I have to use google calendar for work and we use a shared iCal at home, so I don't write down appointments. I like the monthly calendar for bigger project planning and being able to look at my month at a glance for the big picture of the month. I put birthdays, out of town things, or major deadlines. I use the note pages to plan projects, make lists, or brainstorm work things. There's a folder in the back if I need to hold on to something small. I hate having post it notes all over, so I can use a page for my ongoing to-do list.

There is a mini Happy planner from MAMBI. It's about 5x7. I got one from Michaels and from Hobby Lobby. The one from HL is undated.

I have been using the Franklin-covey planner for 30+ years. They offer a lot of sizes and designs. I used the Day-Timer before that. It would be worth checking out.

If you are looking for a loose-leaf refillable planner, you can't go wrong with a Filofax. I have a navy personal size original. I love it. I used an EC for years, but with no more kids at home, I don't need that much planner. I make my own inserts so I can have exactly what I want.

I had an EC planner and I LOVED it. They're pricey, but because I actually used it daily, it was well worth the investment. Of course, that was a year we were selling/buying a house and moving cross-country, so I really needed to keep my life in order. It was sturdy, functional, and cute.
I've had two MAMBI Happy planners since and can't get into the discs, I always feel if I take it anywhere, I'll destroy it. Plus, I don't really decorate mine, so the EC was already aesthetically pleasing enough without having to do anything to it.
That's my 2 cents, depends on what/why you use them and what works best for you!

If you are looking to use an A5 refillable size then I would recommend InkwellPress.

If you're thinking about Erin Condren planners, check out your local Michael's store. There are you tube videos comparing the two, and to me they are so close it's worth the money you'll save. I picked up one on BF for 9.99

Thanks ladies for the ideas. I was going to get Franklin Covey but as I was adding it to my Amazon Cart a pretty paisley Erin Condren one popped up at the bottom of my screen (darn you Amazon). I ended up buying that one.
I didn't even know that people made Youtube planner videos. Guess where I'm headed now?
