Thank heavens I've already purchased as many IPs as can fit in my kitchen and have already given them as gifts to everyone in my life who would use them, so I will not be competing with all y'all that NEED these in your lives. I foresee another spike in our weekly thread participation. elaine I have the 7 in 1 but want to get one for my mom and my ds. This one doesn't do yogurt, which is fine, but this is the lux and only does high pressure, not high and low. How big of a difference does that make? I see that many have already answered this as I would have - I've rarely used low pressure - maybe twice - so if they aren't going to make yogurt, this is an awesome deal!

Ok girls. I've perused these threads for months. I am about to succumb and purchase one, however I'd love to hear from folks who live alone. Do you use yours much? Thanks in advance!

Well... my dh has been traveling on and off for the past month or so, and I've been alone most of that time. He travels a lot and in the past when he left I would never cook for myself. The most I'd do would be eggs, salad, tuna, Costco chicken, etc. Maybe a frozen something. But, now that I have the pressure cooker I've made -- just for me -- three kinds of soup (carrot, chicken noodle, and bean), rice pudding, mac and cheese, chicken, and I'm planning to experiment with a piece of steak that's in the freezer. I don't even like steak normally but I want to see how tender the IP gets it. lolol. And I used to hate cooking! I made the entire recipe for the soups and froze half of each so now I have soup for me and dh for a few dinners. But if you don't want that much leftover you could always just cut the recipe in half. I say go for it!

Damn you Peas! I have been avoiding all of the IP threads all year. Now I think I need to cave and get one of these. Should I get the extended 3 year warranty? How well does this thing hold up?

The 6-in-1 is sold out now on Amazon. It seems to be still available at Walmart for the same price, although I wouldn't expect that to last long either. I think the Facebook groups broke Amazon with all the ordering. lol I can not believe I found this on my own before I heard of it elsewhere! Go Lefty... Go Lefty.... Go Lefty.... Thanks leftturnonly ! I've been waiting for this. We don't have Prime, so went with the non-Prime deal of $80ish, BUT we had Amazon gift card money just waiting for this opportunity to pounce. SWEET! (And what do you mean you don't have Prime? I use it all the time to watch movies and TV shows. ) Shoot!! Somehow, don't ask me how, but TWO more IP's are on their way to my house. No, wait, make that THREE. Lol my sister just texted that she bought one and is having it shipped here as they will be out of town. Oopsey! I do have a recipe for KFC fried chicken done at low pressure but That is the ONLY one I have ever seen needing low pressure. You'll be fine without it Thank you Though now I kinda want to ask for that recipe Here you go ETA: REMOVED LINK BECAUSE FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS ELECTRIC PRESSURE COOKERS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR FRYING! Sorry if I got your hope up. Nice save, scrappinghappy! Ok girls. I've perused these threads for months. I am about to succumb and purchase one, however I'd love to hear from folks who live alone. Do you use yours much? Thanks in advance! Wading among the pile of Instant Pot groups on FB earlier, I came upon this group. Instant Pot Freezer Meal and Batch Cooking that might be a great help for you. You're not cooking for more people; you're making dinner and meals in advance for yourself. Do I need this if I already have a slow cooker and a pressure cooker? Actually I have like 3 crock pots and a pressure cooker that can smoke I have a slow cooker that I got mumblemumblemumble years ago (I think it's older than some of the peas) that works wonderfully, BUT, I've hardly used it because I just can't take the smell of things cooking in it. So weird. The food is fine, it's just while it's cooking. So for me, I think it's going to be a big difference over a crock pot.

Actually I have like 3 crock pots and a pressure cooker that can smoke Well, let me tell you that I gave away my 2 crock pots and 1 of my pressure cookers and sold the other pressure cooker. So replaced 4 bulky appliances with 1. The IP can slow cook but why would you want to now that you can get dinner on the table so fast.

Damn you all. I bought a second one. And I'm single!!! My excuse was that I am not often up to cooking, and every time I've used the IP, I have wished I had a second one so I could get something else underway instead of having to wait for the unit to be finished with what it was cooking. Especially when I am making yogurt, which I do very often. I just did a batch Tuesday night and have another gallon of fat free milk in the refrigerator waiting to go into the pot as soon as I run the dishwasher again. I love to cook in advance because I never know what my life will bring me. I made up a batch of quinoa and black beans and put them in the sealed pouches and into the freezer. I was so happy to be able to go in and grab them to make up some quick dinners.
I will now be running both machines and hopefully stocking my freezer full. If I can just keep my damned roommate away from that freezer door, I'll be a happy camper. He has "accidentally opened it" twice so far, and I lost everything in it, including a full gallon bag of blackberries from my yard, homemade soups, etc. I was so pissed. I have a bit piece of special tape across the door now, holding it closed so that he thinks before he opens it. I don't understand how someone can open it and NOT close it properly, but he has. I would kick him out if I didn't need the rent money from him. I will be so happy to be living on my own again!

i got mine on Prime day and love it. There are only 2 of us. We make nice big batches and eat a lot of left overs. Our favorite go to recipe is the chicken salsa (just chicken and 2 jars of salsa). We do 4 or 6 breasts and we eat it until it is gone I raved to my mom about it, took her some corn in the summer. She paid regular price for hers. Today I ordered another for her and another for my aunt. If I had the space, I would get another as well. Today I cooked my sweet potato chucks in the IP, they were delicious (as delicious as the corn in the cob)! I don't think I will ever boil the sweet potatoes again!

I would kick him out if I didn't need the rent money from him. I will be so happy to be living on my own again! Does your freezer have a lock on it? After our daughter didn't close it all the way one July day, we started locking ours. We had the key attached to one of those curled plastic lanyards that attached to a piece that we stuck to the front of the freezer. Having it right there, in our face, made us stop and use it. Of course the fact that I threatened to skin anyone who left it unlocked probably didn't hurt. A side benefit of locking the freezer was that it kept it from popping open if something shifted. A friend overfilled her freezer shelf and the freezer popped open at some point and she lost everything in it. Keeping it locked prevents this (as does paying attention to where you place stuff.)
