I have a hard time wrapping my brain around wanting to separate the various kits by color. Do you really only use cards of say yellow on a layout? That seems strange to me. I like how the various kits have complimenting colors and how they look together on my spread. I pick the kit/cards I use based on what I think will look good with my photos, but never use cards of all the same color. My brain must just work differently lol! I've also been watching too many You Tube videos!

I don't have a huge number of cards so just organise by size. I can flip through and see what goes with the photos I'm working on.

I organize by color but only within each kit! I like to keep my kits together. I also organize by the type of card. ..journaling, filler, & ones with words. This works best for me!

I organize by color. Since most cards have more than one color on them, I file by the most dominate. I also have a section of "multicolored" for those that are stripped or whatever and don't fit in another category. When I sit down to do a layout, I pull cards from the dominate doors in my pics. So an aquarium page I did recently had teals, blues and red in the pics bc DS had on a red shirt I went through my teal, blue, red and multi piles. a lot of my teal cards had red accents on them (from Honey kit - camera, hearts) so thar was perfect! And I ended up using a red/blue stripped card from the multi pile. That's how it works for me. I end up mixing and matching kits and using more stash this way. And it's actually a lot faster bc I think by color anyway, and spend less time digging through all my core kits separately if they were that way. I love it!

I organize my kits by color but keep the kits together. I've been dabbling with mixing everything by color but we'll see. I have week cards from Hello Forever that start my color inspiration for my spreads. I will dig through my stash to see if I have any filler cards that would work well with that color first. Then I look at my photos and see what other two or three colors I could use in the spread. It would make sense for me to sort by color but I just can't bring myself to merge everything!

Interesting to hear what everyone does. I guess i might need to reorganise if I end up with more cards. By the way, love your avatar bsn22!

I keep my current kit together and when the month is over, the rest get color coded. It's also fun when I come across a new color pallet on Pinterest. Then I can easily recreate the combinations.
