The only thing on his list is a new baseball glove which we will get him. He doesn't want new headphones/earbuds, new clothes, or any new video games. Christmas will be hard for all of us, but I want him to have a few happy surprises to open.
Any thoughts?

Is he into computer stuff? Mine got a kit to build his own using a raspberry pi last year. We got him the pi, (pi2or3or whatever the latest one is ) the accessories kits (2of them ) and a 'laptop' kit. He built it and does geeky programming things with his grandfather.
Not a terribly exciting thing, certainly not a replacement for his computer, but it's been a nice activity for him to do with his grandfather. Lots of nice bonding.
Everything else my teen son wants is drum related so that won't help. Lol
Maybe some activities? Season Passes to the local minor league ball park? Movie passes? Theme park?

Teen boys are so hard. Ds15 did give some ideas but apparently he thinks Santa is loaded. Some things he is getting, maybe it will give you some ideas: a (cheap)laptop (his request) tickets to an NBA game (dh gets them for the 2 of them each year) a sushi making kit with recipes and starter ingredients to make his own (non-raw) sushi since it's his fav food ever an iphone camera kit amazon had it as a lightening deal and I thought he might like it a movie that I can't remember the name of.....it was $3 at WM on black friday, I want to say Weekend at Bernies, but it wasn't that one, it was something similar, anyhow, I thought it would make good filler gift. a couple video games (his request) Bounce Off game I might get him a backup phone battery he'll get extra earbuds and phone cables

Does he play video games on the network of his system? A gift card for Playstation Live or the XBox equivalent if so.
Subscription to Spotify Premium.
Any experience gifts he would like? If he's into baseball, good tickets to a game next spring?

Mine asked for socks. So far that is the sum total of his list. Granted, they are specific style/brand running socks (he is training for a couple of upcoming half marathons) but still. Socks. That was it.

I agree with a sports event gift if he is into baseball, etc. How about a little drone? Remote control helicopter safe for inside house? (DH and SIL-30+) love them for some silly reason. Virtual Reality goggles? I will admit I don't know much about them. They seem to be the new "thing." Movie gift basket with movie(s), candy, popcorn, bottled coke/drink, graphic t-shirt to match movie? Maybe rolled up pj's added to it? The start of a tool kit? Add a piece each bday, Christmas, etc? so that he has a nice set by the time he is adult? Does he like to draw, sketch? Sketch pad, charcoal, blending sticks, pencils, erasers, etc. I'm really sorry he feels he doesn't want anything this year. *Hugs*

A card for Xbox live is a great idea-thank you!
I will check into some live events. I was disappointed to see myth busters is not touring anymore!
Has anybody ordered good music for trombones? He has been playing for 5 years so maybe some fun (rock) music would be good.
He likes bands that have dead members (his words not mine, lol) so now concert tix right now.
Thanks peas-any other ideas are appreciated!

Last year my teenagers favorite non-asked for gift was Exploding Kittens.
How about a new wallet with some small gift cards in it ($5-$10) Itunes, Dunkin Donuts, etc.

Experiences are always fun or gift cards to his favourite restaurants. I guess it depends on his age and if you're in a city.
My 16 yr old ds asked for tickets to see the "Book of Mormon" and for Roots sweat pants. I might get him a gc to a local indoor trampoline centre. He really hasn't asked for anything else.

Does your son like soda? What about a Soda Stream? I bought one for my son 2 years ago and he still uses the thing all the time. It wasn't on his Christmas list, in fact he'd never heard of a Soda Stream but it turned out to be a great gift.

My friend's 2 college aged kids are excited about subscriptions to loot crates. It's pop culture stuff, i.e. movies and video games. I think you pick the price point and it can go from 2 pairs of socks up to a variety of stuff each month. This month's theme was magic I think? There was a comic book, tshirt, figurine, pj pants, all from movies like Harry Potter. I didn't recognize a lot of it, but the 20 year old girl and 19 yo boy were more excited than I've seen.

Some of the hit gifts my boys received at that age are fleece character PJ bottoms, fleece sports blankets, sneaker balls, key chain flashlights, GC's to Amazon, favorite food treats/candy and a fun item like canned snow, slushy maker, doughnut maker. Some good necessity items were socks, good water bottles, sports bags, hoodies, tees or items with their favorite team, band or show on them. One year we got DS a Walking Dead tervis mug.

I'd go baseball themed. If you're getting him the glove how about:
a bat, batting glove, batting helmet, cleats, equipment tote, towel, sunscreen, the black stuff that they put under their eyes, favorite team shirt, hat or hoodie, baseballs, pitch back net. Autographed memorabilia. Team pennant.

Gifts that were a hit we've bought in the past are the battery pack chargers for electronics. They have a quick full charge and can be used without plugging in. I can't recall what the name is so maybe someone can help me out.
Bluetooth radios for phones. The one we got was a super high quality which was discontinued and a great price (a few years back) which made it very affordable.

Things we have bought for DS include records & matching T-shirts for favorite bands at the time (Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, etc.), earbuds (he goes through several sets a year and this year will get bluetooth wireless), video games, XBox live pass and graphic novels for the series he reads.
Big hits for him have been events like touring comedians and Second City shows.
Grooming products have also been well received and this year I plan to give him a Dopp Kit/Toiletry bag.
Is there a college he is starting to think about? Tickets or IOUs for college sports events might be well received.

Best unexpected gift I've ever bought my teenage boy: The Complete Collection of Calvin and Hobbs. He loves Hobbs. He was 15. This present made him tear up... it was so sweet. He's read them cover to cover 2x now, I think. He doesn't like to read books, so finding him reading this on his own before bed makes me happy. Poker Set Life long skill! LOL! Cool key chain (if he's of driving age) I found my son an Arctic Lego Batman at the Lego Store, which is loves (We're from Alaska and Batman is is favorite) Oakley sunglasses UE Boom Arduino Kit My kid is a techy nerd though... he loves projects like this. Trombone Flip FlopsANYTHING Traxxis (I've got 3 boys including my husband... doesn't matter the age... they all love driving these. They are spend, but so fun!)

We got my 18yo DS tickets to Green Day when they come to town in March. He also wants a wallet, so I like the idea of putting gift cards in it of places he likes to go (Chick-fil-a, Jamba Juice, Playstation, etc.)
He is also getting a adjustable light so he can work on his car and some tools to add to his collection...all for working on his car.

My son is 12 and plays baseball. We are budgeting heavily this year and while I originally wanted a "fat head" of him playing for his wall, I have to scale it back. We have a frame collection (11x16 is the largest.... goes down to a 4x6 size) of about 4 wooden frames. We are getting photos that were taken from the season made to fit the frames.
This is a gift that I hope he will hang on his bedroom wall and enjoy for quite a while to come!
ETA.... last year we made his room a baseball themed room. I made one side of the wall a mural which is super cool (impressed myself there) and I made him a baseball no sew blanket. You can buy professional team logo fleece material. Maybe you can find his favorite teams material and make him a blanket!!

Mine asked for a stack of movies and some posters. He's getting those plus red hot chili peppers tickets for him and his girlfriend (maybe mom and dad too) , restaurant gift cards, movie gift cards, floor mats, seat covers, and air freshener for his car and I'm SUPER excited to give him a new turntable that can digitally record albums and a stack of classic rock albums that I used to listen to even I was younger, that were passed down to me from my dad...they were part of his collection when he was dj'ing while he was in the army.
Fun fact: my dad got fired from e-club because he let 4 songs from the same album play 'because it was the best album ever released, the people loved it and the songs should've been played'
My kids have a hard time imagining grand daddy being cool. Ha
