Were there wedge shaped bowls next to this?
I think it could be a fancy bagel serving tray.

Bagel tray. My Neighbor had one, hers had little plates or bowls where those little pegs are. The pegs held the little dishes that she served lox on.

You may be right, Elaine?! I think that's the closer then a carving board. This has been fascinating to read. I'm going to google a bit more now that I have a lead. Thanks, guys!

I knew if that was a meat carving board, it was the worst design I've ever seen.

I would love to have that. I serve bagels with all the toppings.
I think I will get the Mac to make me something like that.

Amazing! Now - how many of the thrifting peas want to admit they are going to be on the lookout for a vintage bagel tray? I know I will!

I will now spend the rest of my days puzzling over why my Roman Catholic Grandmother may have had a bagel serving tray in her pantry under the stairs.

Amazing! Pea power strikes again I initially thought some sort of tray then veered onto some sort of game board train of thought but my googling skills let me down on this. So glad to know what it is.

Well how interesting! I was thinking along the lines of a weird bar skittles game. Are we going to see it ready for serving?

I will now spend the rest of my days puzzling over why my Roman Catholic Grandmother may have had a bagel serving tray in her pantry under the stairs. What does her religion have to do with having a serving piece? Because typically Catholics back in the day were not consumers of bagels and lox as a general practice. I never heard of a bagel until I was grown.

Take it to Antiques Roadshow! That show couldn't even identify a common German souvenir beer glass my mom took there.
