So I've had foot pain for a few weeks, I tried to get insoles, and i tried an ace bandage no luck, so it went to the Dr wednesday, and she mentioned a few things, and it's sending me for a bone scan. By the time I get results it will be 4 weeks of this pain and I'm getting annoyed.
So the pain is on the bottom and left side of my left foot, basically across from the arch. The ace bandage was excruciating and wearing sneakers is worse. I stepped on the threshold of a door frame and nearly jumped to the ceiling.
I need this to go away fast, or at least figure out why, as I work on my feet .
Thanks!!

Have you tried an osteopath? I had foot pain on the outside edge of my foot and his manipulation, taping etc sorted me out in a couple of sessions.

Perhaps you have a bone spur?

Possibly a stress fracture.

I started getting this kinda stabbing pain in my left heel in July... it still hasn't gone away and I'm set to see the doctor in a couple weeks. I had to get those gel inserts at first, but moved to those yoga mat Skecher shoes? It feels like I'm almost back to normal! I also bought those kitchen mat things that are supposed to help for when you're in there for a while. It totally sucks though and I hope you get a diagnosis... I read up on bone spurs and my pain doesn't seem to be the same as described on the internet, but who the heck knows?

Are you sure you're getting a bone scan? That's a radioactive scan for cancer. Have you had an x-ray of that foot already?

My Dr said it was a bone scan, and that is what I called and scheduled. She did not have me get an X Ray because she is leaning towards Stress Fracture and said it doesn't usually show on an x-ray

That's true about the x-ray not seeing a stress fracture sometimes, although it rules out other things first, and it's quick and easy, so I thought she'd probably go there first. But, researching bone scan further, I see the radioactive treatment can collect in the fracture as well as in cancer. I hope it's figured out and healed, whatever it is!
