Well, the end to another season. Went by super fast!!! dang.
The dramatics with Aunt Agatha telling Elizabeth that maybe the baby would come early, and Elizabeth looking shocked in to the fire? LOL! like she didn't know that all the time or thought of that? That was sort of lame. Liked everything else though.

I liked the finale.
I just wish Demelza had spilled the beans to George while he was twisting the knife about him winning the woman Ross loved. I suspect George might figure it out himself if the baby is born early and has curly black hair like Ross.

I agree. Has it never occurred to her? I was waiting for Demelza to rain on their parade with that bit of news when she was in their home to warn them of the villagers with axes and torches! I'm glad Ross came to his senses. I wonder where we will pick up next season.
By the way, what war are they off to?
Nicksmom, just read your response and realize we were thinking the same.

Why do you guys think Demelza knows who the baby is? She doesn't. Aunt Agatha is the only one.

Why do you guys think Demelza knows who the baby is? She doesn't. Aunt Agatha is the only one. Demelza knows Ross slept with Elizabeth very close to the time she married George. That's what I wanted her to tell him. At the very least, he would know Ross had Elizabeth first so it would shut up his bragging that he won. If it made him fret about the baby being his, all the better.

peasapie, I had been wondering the same thing myself and spotted this extremely helpful comment on the Poldark Facebook page: "Just as an aside, Dr. Enys is heading off to fight in what is known as the War of the First Coalition, when Napoleon was first made a general by the new French Republic and sent off to defend the French Republic against a coalition of old-line monarchies of Austria, Prussia, Great Britain, Spain and other countries who were panicked by the revolutionary fever which swept America and France. Napoleon's military brilliance in this campaign (Austria and Egypt) led to him becoming an emperor and terrorizing all Europe for the next 20 or so years until he was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo." HTH!

Why do you guys think Demelza knows who the baby is? She doesn't. Aunt Agatha is the only one. Why wouldn't Demelza know? She knows the date they slept together. She knows as much as Aunt Agatha does. And apparently more than Elizabeth about how pregnancy works, lol. We laughed pretty hard at Elizabeth's puzzled expression. Then again, maybe she was taught that only married people can have babies.

Well, in the books, Elizabeth KNEW she was pregnant with Ross's child. Hence why she waited, and waited for him to come, and when he didn't, she knew she only had so much time before she could pull the child off as someone else's and it coming "early" and it looking legit. Hence why she suddenly agreed to marry George, and so sudden.
