The Instant Pot 6 quart 7-1 Duo is on sale again for $68.95 for Cyber Monday on Amazon. If you missed it the other day, here it is again. Since this is a new sale, this should also work if you wanted an additional one, but were capped at one the other day. Main differences between a 7-1 and a 6-1 are that the 7-1 has a yogurt maker function, and high/low pressure settings. The 6-1 has no yogurt maker, and only on/off pressure setting. Link on Amazon (affiliate link) The 6-1 is on sale too, for $49. link to 6-1 (affiliate link) Note--the last time, a 3rd party seller tried to be sneaky by making their price lower than Amazon's so then their listing was "first." That seller was booted. As of this posting, both links go straight to the IPs sold by Amazon. But if before you buy (whether using these links or something else), make sure it ships from and is sold by Amazon.com These tongs are exceptionally helpful tongs for removing the liner. Here is an additional silicone ring. Instant Pot brand recommends against using a knockoff brand that has not been tested for safe sealing or FDA food safety. Additional rings are helpful if one ring becomes particularly fragrant from whatever you cooked. Happy shopping! ETA: It's now Tuesday morning and it's still on sale.

OMG! I'm so torn whether to order this and take back the other to WalMart when it arrives.
Does WalMart take back things in the store that you order online? I should think that they would, but I know other stores that don't. Anybody know?

Walmart is about 1/2 mile away so it would be a simple thing to return. ETA - Third time's the charm, right? So.... I did it. (First one was stolen when delivered.) Should be here by Nov. 30. Thanks, @missjen.

I am returning the Walmart ones. I've returned items purchased online from Walmart at the store with no issues.

I have found the most help on the Instant Pot Community Facebook Group. hippressurecooking.com is also helpful. Thank you! I do know from the Facebook group that a lot of the "kindle books" are just recipes people have pilfered from that group and the popular blogs and then compiled to try to make money selling other people's recipes. The more veteran people in the groups warn against those books. I guess they said a dead give away is if the "book" has "Instant Pot" in the title but isn't actually released by "Instant Pot." Unfortunately though I don't know where to begin on finding legitimate publications.

You are awesome, Jen! I already talked my neighbor into getting one. His should be delivered today. My second one arrived yesterday when my renter happened to be in my kitchen when I brought it in. He has been noticing all of the things I have been making in mine and decided last night he wanted one. I told him they were not on sale any longer and that he'd have to pay full price. He pretended to sneak mine up to his room. I will let him know that if he is serious, he can get one today for the cheaper price! And runner5, I didn't think about proofing bread! I'm going to try that this week. Thank you!!! I'm not a big bread eater, but homemade bread is the exception to that rule. SaveSave

I find the Facebook group frustrating in that I have trouble searching for a recipe, etc. It has great info but if you see something you think you might want later, grab it (unless it's just me and I'm clueless about Facebook search skills). The "Learn to Pressure Cook" free class on Hip Pressure Cooking helped me a lot. I agree that HPC is the best site out there though others have incredible recipes too.

But I agree that it isn't the most efficient means of information distribution.

Don't forget our weekly IP threads here!
I love making yogurt in the IP. I buy my milk at Costo, 2 gallons at a time, so I use one gallon to make the yogurt, and the other for drinking.
Personally, I regret buying my two Pressure Cooking cookbooks, there is SO much out there on Pinterest, and even here. If I want to cook something, I just google it, and viola.
Just start cooking. I used my IP to make my mashed potatoes, so easy. Peeled, tossed in the strainer and steamed them, then drained and mashed and kept warm all in one pot. Easy peasy!

I'm going to stick with the non-yogurt making one I have coming already -- gasp! Since yogurt and bread aren't things we eat much of anymore, I'm not sad to not have that feature. Ours will be replacing my slow cookers eventually, and will come with us when we take off to full-time RV in a few years. Getting it now gives me lots of time to fine-tune all my recipes for when we hit the road. But it's fun watching everyone get the good deals and be so excited!

I still have my two different sized crockpots. One is an awesome avocado green Rival from the 70's that was my grandma's. The other is a pretty oval shaped white one.
Sometimes I just want the simplicity of the crock pot without any fussing. And, I still use them for serving when I have a party, so there's that.

I cancelled one and got the 7 in 1 for my mom. But I'm still giving the 6 in 1's to my kids. I don't think any of them will make yogurt. If someone tries it will be my mom. Plus she's mom, she should have the better one I got hers hoping she will use it in the RV too. I want to use my camping and dog showing next year.
