Any comments on a new refrigerator? We are considering a side by side Fridgidaire with ice and water in the door, 26 cf. Lowes, HD, and Sears have what appears to be identical ones with different item numbers. On sale for $744 (Sears) - $748 (Lowes) all with free delivery.
Any complaints? Suggestions? The reviews are generally very good, only complaint is noise. Our kitchen is separated from the living area, so unless it's just crazy noisy we won't notice.
We want a pretty basic fridge with lots of space. Don't want French door, don't want bottom mount freezer, ice and water through the door is pretty fancy for us. We have never had a fridge with an ice maker before so we are fine with basic!

We just bought a new fridge that I freaking LOVE It's an LG and has so much space in the fridge part and has an ice maker in the pull out bottom drawer ... I use A LOT of ice so this was essential and the best money we could have spent I've heard nothing but bad things about door mounted water and ice dispensers Here's mine ETA: We got this at Home Depot so check them out!

Do your research and be sure they have fixed the icemaker issues before buying.
Our frigidaire was the one with French doors on top for the fridge and the freezer drawer on the bottom. Their customer service was luke warm during the SHORT warranty period and then non existent. We received a class action notification about a month after we replaced the piece of junk. My biggest peeve is not that the fridge had issues, in pretty much every single one, but that the company didn't respond to fix the issue. They just washed their hands of it and didn't respond. No recall, no fix nothing.
Read a lot of reviews on your specific model and do your research.
Best of luck with your new fridge.

Also buy the extended warranty. If we had not we'd have been all alone in the battle once the warranty expired.and we also went BACK to Sears, after all my complaints with their warranty service I found it was still leaps and bounds above the other service we had bought.

Do not buy a samsung with french doors. Ours has been a nightmare. 7 years old, $3k and we'll be buying a new one early next year.

Well I have a French door with the ice and water in the door that we love. I'd never ever EVER buy another side by side. You can't get a dang thing in them.

Like the pp above i will never have a side by side again! I have our old one in the garage. The few times that i actually need it i find myself cursing at it. Nothing fits! I would go with the two door above before doing side by side.

I have a Frigidaire side-by-side with water and ice in the door. I'm not sure how old it is - it came with the house and we have lived here 8 years, so it is older than that. I have had no problems with it. I really like having the ice & water in the door.
I've never had a problem fitting anything in it. Last week I had my turkey, a couple of large pizza boxes, lots of beer and soda and lots of Thanksgiving food in there along with all my usual stuff.

I might not be of much help to you but I love our Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator. It has the freezer on top and fridge on the bottom - ice maker inside the freezer (no ice/water in the door). It is about 17 years old and we have not had any problems with it. I remember how old it is because we bought it shortly after we were married.

We have a Frigidaire side by side that came with the house. Fridge/freezer works fine but we're always having problems with the ice dispenser jamming up.

Us too. I think ours is about 10 years old. The in-door water dispenser leaks and just last week the ice maker stopped making ice.
