I've read on here that many use the Michaels Recollection brand card stock with their silhouette machine because it cuts so well.
What settings do you put your silhouette on to get the best cut?

I go one number up from recommended, but thickness and speed stay at recommended. But I will suggest you might have to fiddle until you find what works for you and your machine.

I have the original Silhouette with a pink blade, and I just use the default setting. Even if it doesn't cut completely through, the pieces sort of snap apart when you twist or jiggle the paper. With Bazill, I have to double or even triple cut.

I have used the cardstock setting and the patterned paper settings and both work. I think patterned paper uses blade setting 3 and cardstock is 4. I think I use 4 for kraft and 3 for white.

I should have looked at my actual setting before answering. I do go in to settings and select the pink blade and cardstock, but I don't change anything else.

We must have been on each other's wavelength mom! I posted a thread about cutting 100lb cardstock with the Cameo yesterday lol! Here is some great info also. There is some really help tips/cutting tips/settings in the comments below the actual post that are really helpful. More in-depth and helpful info!

In the loose papers, there are different colors labeled smooth. They are shimmery on one side and I have the best luck with that paper. It is yellow, navy maroon, and some white variations. I think Bazzill has more pulp in it for texture and that is why it can be more challenging to cut.

I LOVE using Bazzill Smoothie for cutting on my Silhouette and Cricut. I do double cut, but I do that for everything.
Just wish Bazzill Smoothie wasn't so hard to find.

I use the cheap Recollections CS that goes on sale for $2 a pack of 50 sheets. It cuts very well. Clean and the paper doesn't tear when you lift it off the cutting mat.
As for settings, I've found that different machines can cut differently. Heck, I think my machine changes on a whim. I usually use the recommended setting, but sometimes will decrease the depth by 1/2 a notch or 1 notch. I know it's an extra step, but test cuts are your friend!

I have my blade on 4, speed 1, thickness 24. One cut does it almost every time. Also, I turn overcoat on at 0.2

I only use Michaels or hobby lobby brand cardstock in my cameo. they both cut great. They are the only local stores close to me. I had see people mention both brands have problems but I figured out what works for me. It is medium pattern paper setting speed 4 thickness 30 I do love my cameo so much
